Dude, why would you let it lapse in the first place? Netflix is awesome.

    Looks interesting?
    Um, looks awesome.

If you haven't read much of the Polo story (because it was more than just Marco), you're missing out. Perhaps some of the greatest adventurers of all time.

    What is the song?

Where is the part where he jumps into a pool and people start calling his name?

I was just trying to manage my expectations, ha. The first 10 episodes had a budget of $90m, more than the first season of Game of Thrones. If all goes well, this is going to be amazing. If not, still will be watchable at the very least I think because it looks very beautifully shot.

I enjoyed Netflix primarily for house of cards. Outside of that, Amazon Prime served it's purpose.

I struggle with how this makes economic sense for Netflix. I mean, are they really going to get $90+ million more dollars of revenue from subscribers simply because of this one show? It seems unlikely for these original series that they produce to really pay off unless they start making people pay extra over their current subscription rate just to watch these.

Not because of 1 show, but because of 20 original series? Sure. I picked a random number there... but here's some many for you.

Let's say they produce 20 shows at a cost of $1 BILLION annually. Netflix has 50 million subscribers now, probably growing.

If 20% of their subscribers are subscribers because of the original programming - probably high for now, but I can see it getting there.., that's 10 million subscribers. At $8 a month * 10 million * 12 months = $960 million... so basically break-even.

Netflix stock is basically flat for the year. But over the last two years, when I'd argue the original programming started in full swing (House of Cards and Orange is the New Black are 2 seasons in) it has traded up from $92 to $382.

So investors clearly like this model.
