Yep. I always get their medium salsa. It's perfectly flavored and spiced. Only problem is that it only lasts a week before it spoils.
Most HEBs carry a brand called Jacala now. It's made by a restaurant in San Antonio and it is incredible.
I'll second the Frontera salsas. Pretty good for jarred salsa. Most Mexican markets have a house brand in the refrigerated section that's better than most of the jarred stuff also.
It boggles my mind that he is Skip Bayless's brother. He is great. This is what I'm looking for, thanks. This is what I'm looking for, thanks. This is also great advice, thank you. How again are Rick and Skippy Bayless brothers?
I really do not like mango or other sweetish salsas. I thought it was just me. It is for me, my garden isn't producing yet so no tomatoes, peppers, cilantro for another couple of weeks. Yes, so much yes. Depends on how sweet your tomatoes are, a little lime or vinegar cuts that down. Yes, I do this when others are around, the Arriba hot+med is just about perfect tastewise. I will be googling this, thanks.
arriba and frontera are good and making your own is nice for sure. i like this one for larger uses when i'm cooking and for parties
I love Arriba but be careful. Twice I've unkowingly bought jars that weren't sealed properly. The first time, I opened it to find a thick layer of mold. I also really love the HEB specialty salsas; the Cilantro, Smoky Citrus, Chipotle Garlic and Name that Salsa
elvis crespo is so 2000 brehs! (Back when I was dating a mexican, she would make this salsa with nopal in it, best salsa ever. I tried buying some "casa martinez" brand but it wasn't the same.)
That's a lawsuit right there. You could have received a year's supply of Arriba for your mental suffering.
It's a Houston company, products made from strictly free-range gluten-free vegans. You should be celebrating their commitment to excellence, not decrying a mishap in shipping. All seriousness though, I check the tops of all screwcap jars in the store...if they give way downward at all, the seal is busted.
Read this thread the other day and started craving. Stopped by HEB today looking for this Arriba brand, but didn't see it. Not sure where to find it. So I settled for the HEB fresh produce salsa and it's not half bad. I got the spicy and it definitely has a kick. Above all its really refreshing, which is a nice change of pace from......well Pace.
What about tortilla chips? What kind do y'all get? I get the On The Border Cafe Style. They're "thicker" (if that's the right word) than many others and don't feel or taste greasy. Spoiler
