    Rockets Announce 2005-06 Television Schedule
    Rockets Featured Locally on FSN Houston and KNWS TV51
    In Addition to 29 National Television Broadcasts

    The Houston Rockets announced the team’s 2005-06 television schedule today, as Houston will open the regular season on FSN Houston with a 7:30 p.m. game vs. the Sacramento Kings on November 2. Overall, FSN Houston will broadcast 57 regular season games with another 14 contests televised locally on KNWS TV51.

    Bill Worrell returns for his 21st season of calling play-by-play for the Rockets. Joining Worrell will be Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member and Rockets legend Clyde Drexler as analyst during home games and all playoff contests, while former Rockets forward Matt Bullard will handle the analyst duties for the team’s away games this season. The sideline reporter will be Patti Smith, who will contribute feature stories, as well as provide in-game news and injury updates. Kevin Eschenfelder will host a pre-game show titled “Rockets Game Time” as well as the “Southwest Sports Report Houston Edition” post-game show.

    Houston will also be featured on national television a total of 29 times. TNT will broadcast seven Rockets games during the season, beginning with the Rockets first road trip of the season at Miami on November 10. ABC will carry five Houston games, starting with a home match-up vs. the Heat on January 29. In addition, eight Rockets games will be broadcast on ESPN, while nine others will air on NBA TV.

    In addition, all eight Rockets preseason games will be shown locally on FSN Houston and KNWS TV51. The preseason slate tips off on TV51 against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 11 at 6 p.m.

    WOW! We really have a lot of nationally televised games this year. :)

    My worry is that the Nationally games that are also on FSN are going to be blacked out for me and Cox won't carry the FSN games. :(

    I knew what I had was not good scoop (I have been out of it with checking threads daily like a good Clutchfans poster should), I guess the Rockets released the press release today to announce the local coverage or somethin'....

    Anyways, thanks for the scoop on my non-scoop:cool:
