Thanks. The OffRtg and DefRtg from stats.nba.com is based on plus minus data. Lopez benefits a lot in Portland in NetRtg as he is the least likely starter to play minutes with the under performing Portland bench. His impressive NetRtg has very little to do with Lopez. The link you referenced specified that he deserves 2.7% of the credit for Trailblazers success in his 3 game sample.

I agree they won't create a huge hole at PF to improve on the center position. It has almost everything to do with LMA and almost nothing to do with Lopez. I don't see Portland acquiring a good center to be giving up on Lopez.

As much as I would love to have LMA, it seems like to me that Atlanta would be a more likely trade than Portland. Atlanta basically has two PF's in Millsap and Horford that they are trying to stretch to fill both the 4 and 5 spots. We basically have two centers in Asik and Howard that we are trying to stretch to fill both spots.

Not only that, I think that Atlanta has a weaker roster than Portland's, although they probably have a better chance of making the playoffs since they are in the East.

I know several people wouldn't mind having Millsap, but I think that is undervalued for Asik. Horford is more valuable than Asik, but maybe we could include other pieces to somehow make that work?

Horford would be incredibly valuable for us at the 4 spot. Not only for the things that he does on the court, but especially for the fact that he would allow us to extend our "H"-Town nickname.

The key word in that sentence is "now." As others here have said, it seems that Aldridge is in a "wait and see" mode to see what kind of talent his team manages to put around him. He really doesn't have a whole lot of leverage right now with 2 years left on his contract, so he might as well wait. His leverage will increase as the clock ticks.

Why do people use bad information to mislead others?

Just because he's happy now doesn't mean he wouldn't jump at the opportunity to be on a legit contenting team, especially if his presence increases the contention chances.

Bad news for you. It doesn't require Asik + Lin for the trade to work. Asik + filler (Jones) can net us Aldridge.

As long as the team remains under the luxury tax threshold after the trade is finalized, they can take back either 150% + $100,000 of the salary that they send out or 100% + $5,000,000, whichever is less.

I believe it might require filler salary from the Rockets.

I am not Bima by any stretch, but let see if my calculation is correct:

    LaMarcus Aldridge $14.128M (2013-14)

    Omer Asik $8.375M
    Terrence Jones $1.552M
    ----------------------------
    Total: $9.927M

    x 150% + $0.1M = $15.19 (which is more than $14.128M coming in)

On paper, it works. On ESPN trade machine, it also works.

Edit: My post in which you quoted, I did mention "filler."

    I second that.
It seems like he was kinda unhappy last year with the roster and the fact that they missed the playoffs. It gave us a much bigger chance to get him than if he is happy with the current roster and starts winning.

We need to stomp Portland tonight to make LMA demand a trade to us.

Where did you get this info from? you're own brain?

Now tell me, why would the Blazers want to trade LMA? The Blazers will have a playoff team this year and LMA is the centerpiece of it. Also, the Blazers already have a center and so far this year Asik is underachieving.

LMA for...Asik, Parsons, Bev, TJones or DMo, and picks.

    Good deal

He works for an agent. He does get good information. Who knows what will happen in the future but it's good to know the Rockets are looking at all their options.

    3 team trade.

    With the main components of
    Asik to Pelicans.
    Gordon to Blazers
    LMA to Rockets.

I can see DMO+Jones+picks going out as well.

LaMarcus will feel differently about being in Portland after this Rockets win tonight.

Morey won't let Asik go. I think it'd be Lin if there's any trade.
