Here are the Rockets scoring ranks per 48 minutes:

    PGs: 56 total

    Beverley - 41
    Lawson - tied for last

    SG: 57 total

    Harden - 1
    Terry - 35
    Brewer - 42

    SF: 56
    Ariza - 31
    Thornton - 10

    PF: 60 total
    Jones - 20
    Capela - tied for 37

    Center: 47
    Dwight - 16
    Josh - 24

I think the PG position is too important and we need more scoring from it. Lawson is fine in assists, but both he and Beverley need to be more aggressive in looking for their shot. Most successful teams have PGs who can triple threat and we don't have one so I think it is holding the Rockets back. Beverley is a 3 and D player and Lawson has been great at passing and ok at driving, getting better at shooting lately. Let's hope he continues to improve.

    All scoring team:
    Beverley
    Thornton
    Harden
    Jones
    Dwight

Sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you really win, and sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie, and sometimes when you tie, you actually win or lose. Winning or losing is all one organic mechanism, from which one extracts what one needs.

You realize we're a terrible defensive team even with four good defenders playing with Harden?

How's it gonna look with Thornton and Jones playing with him? And at the 3 yikes

FYI, their regular PPG are very similar except for Marcus. I don't see what you guys have against stats this far into the season.

Teams would still prefer to attack Harden. It's smarter to attack the other teams best offensive player so he is too tired to create on the other side.

I never suggested that line up except for maybe when the Rockets are in one of their patented 9 minute scoring droughts or when they are down by 15-20.

These are 100% what I have been thinking all along! As a result, if I'm DM I would go hard after Jeff Teague before the trade deadline. We need more production from the Point Guard position.

Real plus/minus, I know this stat is deceptive, but why not:

    PG
    Beverley: 0.39
    Lawson: -4.84

    SG
    Harden: 4.13 (1st amongst SGs)
    Terry: -1.8
    KJ: -1.94
    Brewer: -2.12

    SF
    Ariza: -0.49
    Thornton: -1.3

    PF
    Capela: 2.13
    D-Mo: -1.34
    Montrezl: -1.5
Jones: -4.3 (dead last amongst PFs)

    Center
    Dwight: (6th amongst centers)
    Josh: -0.86

    Best +/- line up:
    Beverley
    Harden
    Ariza
    Capela
    Dwight

    ;)

Likewise.....I have Thornton as a SG/PG and Josh Smith as a PF.

Thanks for the stats Stone. Can you give me the DRtg of each player. My at work and can't do it right now. How know defense is had to quantify and DRtg is deceptive (like Brewer being around DRtg 105).....playing the passing lanes and getting steals skews this stat. I'm just curious.

That's: I'm at work and I know defense is hard to quantify.
