Boston will deal Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Marcus Banks, Justin Reed and two 2nd round draft picks to Minnesota for Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi, Dwayne Jones and a conditional future first round draft pick. The trade is conditional upon the players passing physicals http://www.nbasource.com/
Wally Z for Ricky Davis Just broke Wally & Kandi and 2 2nd rounders for Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Banks and a 1st.
i like it from a standpoint that we're playing them tomorrow and that they might not be at full strength
I don't see how this helps either team...it's a horizontal trade in the sense that they both got near equal value. This sounds like one of those trades done just for the sake of change, period.
So Minnesota gets rid of Kandi-man and ships out Wally for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount. Ricky Davis played his college year at the University of Iowa, so being in the Midwest should suit him OK. I guess Paul Pierce's Boston tenure is safe for awhile.
Good trade for the Wolves. The Wolves have looked old, slow, and unathletic the last couple of seasons. Ricky Davis helps them a lot in that regard. Mark Blount is a quality starting center that can get them about 12 points a game. Plus, they get rid of Szcerbiaks horrible contract.
Ricky Davis was so jellin w/ Pierce. You know "The Truth" is pissed! Well, the Wolves made out. They get some hustle players and some body underneath.
banks is just filler... minny also scored a 2nd pick from suns for Nikoloz Tskitishvili http://www.nba.com/suns/news/release_060126.html
boy, watch out spurs, minny is coming for you now. i'm with tigermission1, this doesn't seem to be a trade that accomplishes anything. maybe i'm missing some huge financial gain for minnesota (are they getting all expiring contracts?) but even if there is one i still don't see it helping them. they are a ways from contending again and garnett isn't getting any younger. eventually he's gotta ask to get traded, right? i know he's a "****ing soldier" but eventually he'll crack, right?
I think Minny comes out ahead in this deal, but not by a whole lot. I bet KG is pissed that his boy got shipped out.
