"Waiting For A Coach Like You" So long I've been looking too hard, I've been waiting too long Sometimes I don't know what I will find I only know it's a matter of time When you want someone When you want someone It feels so right, so warm and true I need to know if you feel it too Maybe I'm wrong Won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong? This heart of mine has been hurt before This time I wanna be sure I've been waiting for a Coach like you To come into my life I've been waiting for a Coach like you A Coach that will survive I've been waiting for someone new To make me feel alive Yeah, waiting for a Coach like you To come into my life You're so good When we make stops it's understood It's more than a touch or a word we say Only in dreams could it be this way When you want someone Yeah, really want someone Now, I know it's right From the moment I wake up till deep in the night There's no where on earth that I'd rather be Than watching you Coach I've been waiting for a Coach like you To come into my life I've been waiting for a Coach like you And a Coach that will survive I've been waiting for someone new To make me feel alive Yeah, waiting for a Coach like you To come into my life I've been waiting, waiting for you, ooh Ooh, I've been waiting I've been waiting, yeah I've been waiting for a Coach like you I've been waiting Won't you come into my life? My life?
in Def Rtg. I'll only count the first two seasons cause the last two seasons were pretty much without Yao and it's not fair. 07-08 - 2nd/30 in the league 101.6 points allowed per 100 possessions 08-09 - 4th/30 in the league 104 points allowed per 100 possessions But to be fair we were very solid defensively before that thanks to JVG and his assistants.
Good point. Alot of people that are going to say "lucky Clippers" because they brought in 2 former head coaches and another qualified head coach really don't understand what the role of assistant coaches are really there for them to do. Since Doc is the head coach I have to give it a little bit of a chance of working out, but under normal circumstances, I'd give that coaching staff about a 10% chance of working out longer than a season.
Thank god! An excellent hire by Morey squarely aimed at improving our defense, assuming McHale lets Dunn do his job, and I think he will. Don't stop there, Daryl. Keep digging for help on the defensive side. We need it.
It's kind of funny Morey's going back to one of Adelman's assistants. IIRC there was that big fallout after he tried to reshuffle/replace the defense coaches by bringing in one of his own choosing at the tail end of Adelman's run during the broken Yao years.
Coach Dunn's initials stand for Theodore Roosevelt-- a name that just commands respect. Good thing we hired the right Coach Dunn, though. Nobody likes T.R.'s much crappier brother Andrew Johnson Dunn.
Earlier this summer someone posted what our first 20 games looked like. 15-5 sounded very doable to me. If it turns into 9-11, I think this is our new head coach
