    Hi..

I'm a 19 y/o male. 4 years ago, I used to abuse myself by dehydrating and starving my own self. I was 5'8 in height and my lowest weight was 100 lbs. This weight stayed for a few months.

Do you think I've done permanent damages to my body, especially to my precious brain due to malnutrition that severe?

    Regards.

    P.S.: I'm not trolling and I also <3 bball :)

Ask a doctor, not an internet forum.

That is a loaded question that couldn't possibly be answered by anyone here. If you really want to find out, go see a doc. You might need supplements to replace essential amino acids since you starved yourself.

I dunno man.. It was years ago and I don't have any pre and post-"anorexia" (I think it's the correct term) diagnosis.. I've stopped the eating disorder habit since early 2011.

I'm just hoping that there will be people who've been on the same boat as me, to share their experiences and diagnosis.

    Regards.

I am no doctor, but your body is pretty resilient, it can bounce back from a lot with proper treatment.

Look at how the POWs bounced back in WW2, or from death camps in Poland.

If those people can come back and lead healthy lives, I am sure you will be fine too.

First post on bbs.clutchfans.net: incredibly emo

    username: "boy of misery"

Includes smileys?: Yes, following a P.S. in the final line "P.S.: I'm not trolling and I also <3 bball"

Judgment: Trolling, genuinely desperate for attention, or some combination of both.

Go see a doctor or a shrink. If you were genuinely concerned about your own health, you wouldn't be asking this type of question on a basketball fan forum.

Oh yeah, I should've mentioned this in #8: I don't have any cash at the moment and won't be having any for a while. So, no doctors :(

    Regards.

How reliable do you think advice from a bunch of middle age men who love basketball will be? There are health clinics and other free mental health services out there for you.

If you're trying to help yourself, this is certainly the wrong way to do it.

I also thought so, but I get the impression that the damages from shrinkage/malnutrition are different.

    This.

You know doctors run test and stuff. They might know a little more than us, "not-doctors-but-play-ones" on this board types..
