Very well deserved honor for a great guitarists and Texan. http://www.dallasnews.com/entertain...-inducted-into-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame.ece <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LUiYRxAns5A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Related note: John Mayer inducted him...the night before he played American Pie on the Late Show, per Dave's request. Really cool. Did the full 9.5 minutes.
(well that's the f*** dumbest thing I've read all day) <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-G84P5K-W1c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah, they kind of lost me when they started inducting rap acts instead of actual rock groups who were hugely influential though maybe not the most commercially successful (Pixies, New Order, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, and pretty much the entire post-punk genre). I think it's going to get even worse in the coming years now that there is even less commercially successful rock bands that are widely appreciated "artists." Of the new bands since 2000, what good rock bands will ever get in other than maybe Arcade Fire? It's basically going to just become some watered down pop music museum.
Interpol - turn on the bright lights is one of my top 10 all time favorite albums. But as a whole I don't know if they deserve to get in. But your right rock needs a wake up.
Deep Purple, Cheap Trick are not members. "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame has been a joke for a while I'm pretty sure.

I think that this is one of the more subdued outfits that he wore! He's also the only one who could pull off wearing a fur tail on his hats! The induction is far,far far overdue! Like many legends, he died too soon!... ....... ....... .......
First time i saw SRV was the fall of '80, and it was my freshman yr of college at SFA. We were in a place called Crossroads drinking some beers (small place) in the middle of the week. Some guy walks by us with a guitar, and goes up on stage and plugs his guitar into an amp. Next thing you know he's wailing away on his guitar and EVERY single person in Crossroads stops what they're doing and looks over at him like "WTF....who's this cat...and where did he come from"? That was the first of many times I saw him. Loved seeing him at Antones in Austin (especially with Buddy Guy).
