Shook hands with someone a few hours ago. He had that old man not bathed in days smell. Went to go wash my hands and notice immediately that his b.o. is now on my hands. Have been smelling it constantly for the past few hours and it still stinks. soap and washing doesn't help. I'm about to soak this stupid thing in vinegar to get rid of the smell. Suggestions?

Invest in good gloves. Your hands will never make a full recovery.

    High five...miss! No do-over.

A Diet Coke rinsing will get rid of the smell.

Precisely one of the reasons why I will try and fist bump first before shaking hands. Especially so if someone tends to have sweaty palms. My father and I work together and his palms sweat so much I refuse to use tools he has immediately touched.

Have you ever shaken someone's hand who wouldn't let go?

No, but we have a sales rep that comes in from time to time with a few missing fingers on one hand. He has no hesitation to put that thing right out there for a handshake. Its weird. I try to act like I am on the phone when I see him walking in.

He exhibited his masculinity and alpha status by marking you. At this point all you can do is shower frequently and avoid showing your hand in social situations. Don't let your wife get a whiff or she may stray.

    Piss on your hand.
Confirm if odor is still there
    If so, then repeat

Burn the hand with fire then never make eye contact with him again.

I despise shaking hands because it is unsanitary. But in my line of work it's required sometimes. At least the people that work for me know how I feel.
