Is Steve ever going to decide to play point this season or he going to continue to forget about passing. Almost has more reb than assist. He has to realize what is a good shot and how he can help his team more. When he first came to the rockets he seem to pass a lot more. Even in college passing came before scoring. We all now he can score, but can he control the tempo of the game and set up other team members. I have seen Yao flash to the basket several times that would have resulted in a easy basket but Steve dosn't pass the ball and end up taking a jump shot as the shot clock runs down. Is Rudy ever going to say anything to him. The funny thing is that Mobley and everyone else seems to understand motion offense but Steve.

Great 1st post. You have great insight that I completely agree with. Keep up the good work.

One note: You should ask the moderators to move this thread to the Rockets Game Action forum. Youll get more feedback that way.

I agree about how Steve doesn't seem to understand how the motion offense works, but at the same time his teamates need to be able to catch and shoot after some great passes.

For insance, in the last game there were many passes that ended up in a open player's hands, but they were not able to make the shot. I think the main reason that Steve is trying to pass less is becasue he has little faith in his teamates actually making a shot.

Hence why we see more Steve to Cat, rather than Steve to Griffin.

Good 1st post TSU..after Rocket games its getting harder to find a good post, especially after a loss. Yours is one of the good ones.
IMHO Steves job has been made tougher because of so many new faces in the line-up. As he gets more reps with Yao in the mix, he will recognize scoring oppertunities more frequently.
As a floor leader Steve is growing, this is the first year where that is his prime responsibility..he will have ups and downs. His success will be better evaluated as this team develops a stable rotation.
