http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?id=3004850 Tuesday, September 4, 2007 An Open Letter to ESPN Fantasy Owners from Terrell Owens -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Terrell Owens To All ESPN Fantasy Team Owners, 2007 is going to be a great year … for me and the Dallas Cowboys. I came into training camp in excellent shape, feeling good about our prospects for the season and proud to be part of the great Dallas Cowboys tradition. I want to help your fantasy team win its league title … and that means generating huge statistics. This year our offense is set up to make big plays. We worked hard during the preseason and we're going to connect on a lot of touchdowns. Coach and I are on the same page. He understands my role and how I can help us win. So here is my pledge to all ESPN fantasy owners who draft me in 2007: I will catch the ball. I will score touchdowns. I will have a great season. Did you see the preseason game against Houston? One touch, one touchdown. That's how it's going to be all year long. I'm aiming for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and at least 20 touchdowns. With our quarterback passing the ball, this is entirely possible. And speaking of my QB … you might as well draft him too, because he's going to the Pro Bowl this year. Put me on your team and you won't be disappointed. I am going to help you win your fantasy league this season. Sincerely, Terrell Owens, No. 81
if homoromo makes the pro bowl, it is only because no one wants to play in it! "1 touch, 1 touchdown." what a joke!
Is he stupid? By my math, he would have 16 catches and 16 touchdowns. I guess 1,500 yards is possible, but that'd be quite an average.
The entire statement's flawed. He's saying that every time he touches the ball he's going to be in the end zone. He then goes on to say that he'll have 20 touchdowns to 100 catches.
He couldn't get 20 TDs when he had McNabb, what makes him think he can get 20 with Tony RomoMcSlipperyhands?
He certainly is silly: 1 game, 1 touchdown, 35 yards x 16 ------------------------------ 16 games, 16 touchdowns, 560 yards You said he played only the 1st 3 quarters? OK... you compute it... I'll take that for my Fantasy Team's bench, allright.
hahah you silly texans fans. "Did you see the preseason game against Houston? One touch, one touchdown. That's how it's going to be all year long. I'm aiming for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and at least 20 touchdowns." Thats how its going to be all year long. He is implying that he will continue to follow the trend of positively effecting the game for the cowboys. Yall are almost as good as espn at diluting every sentence that comes from T.O.'s mouth.
Check your sarc meter. The posts here making fun of TO purposefully took his remarks out of context, for the sake of humor. As for diluted sentences, that dumbass doesn't need any help from "silly Texans fans" or ESPN or anyone else--everything that comes out of his mouth is fundamentally diluted based solely upon its source.
A) sarcasm doesnt translate well over the internet B) it's really easy to fall back on "it was sarcasm" during any conversation on the internet. my sarcasm detector is right where it should be
The rest of us got it, though. It's also really easy to be hypersensitive and take oneself too seriously on the Internet. Chill, dude. TO is a first class jackass. He just is, regardless of what team he plays for. People are going to take every opportunity they can to pile on.
actually, i take back what i just wrote. my entire point is this: it doesnt really seem like everyone in this thread was being sarcastic... and its easy to fly under that guise when someone calls you out on something.
Didn't see your original statement. But it's pretty obvious to me that folks are joking around. There are enough serious issues in life to take sports smack talk seriously.
