No one is talking about Harden's bad defense at the end of regulation?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the sequence of events at the end of regulation:

    * Lin gets an AND1 and the Rockets go up by 3, 81-78.
    * Blazers come back and dump the ball into the post for Aldridge.
    * Harden helps on Aldridge, but then Aldridge kicks the ball out to Wes Matthews and he drains the 3.

My question is, why did Harden try to help on Aldridge thereby leaving Matthews open for a 3? If Aldridge makes his shot, the Rockets would still be up by one.

Actually I thought Lin's alley oop attempt was the nail in the coffin. That was a really poor pass and he should never have done that with less than a minute left.

The game was still tied then. If that turnover was the nail in the coffin, then Matthews slapping the ball out of Harden on the last second shot for a turnover is also a nail in the coffin.

Too bad Lin was forced to help on defense because the Blazer player coming off the pic had a free path to the basket.

But really, if Harden knew that it was better to give up a 2 than a 3 in regulation, the game would have never gone into OT. I won't even mention how he thought he could beat Matthews for that last shot. What a bad decision.

But it's OK, Harden is still young and got caught up in the hype. Time to move on and let's hope he learns from it.

LOL. I'm already laughing at the conversation in this thread.

But we lost because of no ability to finish in the late 3rd / 4th / OT, poor shooting all around, and lack of ball movement on offense. Our D was serviceable and kept us in the game. We did not capitalize on any opportunities given to us by our D.

I agree that Harden made mistakes in OT, but there's just not much reason to single it out for a thread IMO.

It's time to drop the factions, does everything has to become a HOF vs LOF battle around here? (Even true Rockets fans are participating on it taking Harden's side to a nut-sucking level) both players were gassed, both plays were costly.

Everyone on the team made mistakes.

Lin. Harden. PPat. Go on down the list, there was missed defensive rotations (despite overall solid defense), poor shooting, bad passing decisions, etc.

Singling out a player on a team driven loss isn't being fair to any of them.

Harden and Lin are both fan favorites, however Harden doesn't really have a contingent of people who dislike Harden tagging along. This is why you get play by play critiques of Lin more than Harden.

Really, we got a pretty good team. We were talking about 30-35 wins just last week.

We're 2-1 and shooting for a playoff spot. That's with 13 NEW players, loads of rookies, and Harden who was added TWO DAYS before the start of the season.

3 games into the season, we don't have THAT much to complain about.
