John Pinone, 6' 7", Center, Villanova

Sweet moves inside. Ambidextrous. Rugged. Anyone remember him?

Coach K basketball for the Sega Genesis had Childress and Duncan on the same team. They were unbeatable.

Childress was an amazing shooter and scorer in college but just didn't have the right body for NBA success.

I remember when Chris Jackson (as he was known) used to be utterly unstoppable.

Also, Danny Ferry was a really good player at Duke, believe it or not.

Reggie Williams of Georgetown was a good one for a while.

I’ll try to think of some more…

    Rod Griffin, Wake Forest, SF

He tore up the ACC but he had bad knees and no pro career.

    "Baby MJ"...yeah, that almost worked.

I'd have to say any Duke players (barring Elton Brand, and he is borderline because of the never having a winning record in the pros thing). But then starts the debate of "Is Coach K the greatest College Ball Coach ever?" I think I'd have to say yes. No one gets more out of thier players than K has. Wooden ALWAYS had the best recuirts....but then again, he did win 13 National Championships. I hate to say it, but Dean Smith (as a Duke fan at least) needs consideration. I hate that 4 Corner offense, but they guy won, and could recurit like none other. Look at some of those teams he had, guys with HOF in the pros. But maybe thats what makes K special. His system is so unique and team oriented, that it could not work in the pros, with individual talent rather than a strong supporting cast, like Duke always seems to have. Just a thought.......and yet, I digress.

No doubt. He was fun to watch -- always had the Green Light.

Tisdale had a pretty solid NBA career and I don't think he was forgotten. He had a few years where he average right around or over 20 ppg too.

    How about:

    Anderson Hunt of UNLV
    John Wallace of Syracuse
    Charles Smith of Georgetown

That's a good one. I thought he was going to be a good NBA player.

    A few more:

    Pervis Ellison
    Mark Macon
    Billy Donovan
    Steve Alford
    Ed O'Bannon
    Miles Simon
    Scotty Thurman

He was an all-star in the Polish Leagues a few years back. As a UCLA alum, I thought he was a can't miss.
