Isn't this a blatant violation of antitrust laws. [IMG]

I've been a fan of wrestling for about 18 years, I was a WWF fan for 10 years until the mid-90s, and this is unbelievably bad for wrestling. Who is the WWF going to compete with? When wrestling has a down swing there will not be other organizations to pick it up. McMahon can lowball wrestlers, and do stupid things without risk of people having an alternative to turn to. The cross promotional thing is going to get old FAST, it'll only work for a few months before people get tired of seeing it, just like Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair go old. Eventually McMahon is going to close up WCW completely and merge it with the WWF, and then wrestlers like Goldberg will be regular WWF wrestlers. After today, I'm not longer a wrestling fan. This just killed my enjoyment. One organization = the slow death of wrestling.

Actually Hydra, is it a violation of anti trust laws???

Because its not sports. Its just pure entertainment...

What exactly is the wording of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.

The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

Well people weren't wrong in claiming it watered down the product.

It's crazy to think that as much time has passed between that purchase and now as had between the 1st Wrestle Mania and the attitude area.

Yeah, it's bizzaro in a twisted way.

    It's now called the WWE.

They're almost totally PG rated, now.

They also purchased ECW and it was completely phased out in the late 2000s.

The product is now geared towards more athletic, high-flying wrestlers with slightly faster paced. ~ one of the few aspects I like about WWE(F).

Most of the indie stars from that time period are already retired, completely out of business, or near retirement.

The company is worth more, now than ever has been, but fan interests is generally at an all-time low, according to TV ratings and fan reviews.

Yet ... Wrestlemania for about the last 15 years have been the biggest and most watch events in the companies history as far as attendance and PPV buyrates.

If you want to feel old, listen to last Talk is Jericho podcast with Bayley, she was telling her stories growing up meeting stars from the Attitude Era at random places in the Bay Area like meeting Edge/Victoria at a Bail Bonds place, Rey Mysterio at Popeye's Chicken and John Cena at a Eye Glasses store
