In the Associated Press recap of today's game, it says
    here is the link:http://espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=301219023

I wonder what is the difference between his and Yao's. Is brooks ankle sprained?????

If this is true, Why do yao have to have surgery and brooks can just let it heal by itself and get back so quickly????

I don't know if it is true or not but Patterson said he had a stress fracture similar to Yao's current stress fracture and missed 11 months. And Patterson had surgery. They have said stress fractures can heal without surgery. Also the way Brooks came down was about as bad as you can come down on his ankle and it would not be surprising to me if he got one. On the positive, Brooks is one of lightest guys in the league. He will put the least amount of additional stress on his injured ankle. Unlike Yao who needs to lose 100 pounds if he wants to continue to play in this league.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that you don't get "stress fractures" from sprained ankles, no matter how severe of a sprain it was. You can fracture you ankle when you sprain it, but not a stress fracture, which is caused by totally different circumstances.

...(changes soiled pants, wipes brow, takes Xanax).

Please delete this thread out of concern for the safety/sanity of the CF community.

...or why is this even a thread? Brooks played today. So obviously he couldn't have had a stress fracture. That's common sense.

Is Brooks faking an injury? Is he scared of being traded?

the chance of someone of his stature getting a stress fracture without some major bone density issues is pretty damn slim.
