I mean, everyone knew that already... He isn't that right now but he will be in like 3-4 years.

zach and bill pretty much go along the lines on saying that they "hope davis has the breakout tournement of his career like KD did in the 2010 world champs".

also just on Team USA, you guys are screwed when davis does what he always does (gets in foul trouble) you'll be leaning on boogie and Drummond (who will get hack-a-AD every possession he is on the floor in international level).

    team boomers :)

How many of you guys think NOP will screw up building around Davis' MVP-caliber years? In between matching Gordon, the Jrue trade and giving up a "guaranteed lottery" pick for 1 year of Asik, I'm not very optimistic. This will be a repeat of Lebron in Cleveland part 1.

He'll finish as a top 5 player next season. If I were building a team today I'd take him 3rd after Lebron and Durant.

They have a nice team. I think they will be the surprise team next season and make the playoffs.

There is a long way to go. Nobody has any idea what the next 5-6 years will hold for the Pelicans. OKC did a lot right building a team around KD and (just like LeBron in Cleveland) they've made the Finals once and lost. KD could end up being a "repeat of LeBron in Cleveland".

In other words, winning a title is very hard.

Strong possibility that Asik is better than anything N.O. could have got out the draft... And personally I believe a Davis/Asik frontcourt could potentially be the best in the NBA. I think Morey made a mistake giving Asik to Davis... Now Davis has a bodyguard to do the dirty work for him.

If N.O. can clean up that backcourt they will have a heck of a team.

Davis has all the talent to be a top 3 player in this league. Beast.

If he has a dominant post up game, he can be the best player in this league.

KD obviously has more talent in OKC than Lebron did in Cleveland (albeit in a much tougher conference).

But once the Spurs "age," OKC should make the Finals pretty frequently if him and Westbrook continue to improve.

hack-a-x is an unsportsmanlike foul (same as flagrant 1) at every level of basketball except the nba.

    Yep..

And as crazy as it might sound my order of who I would start a franchise today with would go Durant, Davis, Lebron.

I'm basing that off what I expect from the rest of their careers. Lebron is the safe short term bet, but the other 2 are so damn young. Wouldn't surprise me that counting this day forward those 3, whichever team they are on, account for most of the next 10 championships. Of course Houston will sneak 1 or 2 in there.
