Yep, it will be interesting to see what they do about it. All other positions look pretty strong, good depth.
So if Joseph is heading to Toronto and they just lost Amir how about TJ and assets, pap for Lowry?? Rumors been that Ujiri wanted to change roster
Was thinking he might be one of those "Spurs system" guys that are insanely good on the Spurs but scrubs everywhere else (Diaw, Neal, Green, Mills etc.) but he might have some potential.
Didnt think he would go that high....yeah, I'm fine passing on him now. MLE wouldn't have done it, and I wouldn't have wanted him at that high a salary on top of having to trade assets to SA.
So Raptors have Lowry/Joseph and 1st round pick Delon Wright. If Joseph does well for them, wonder if Lowry becomes more available, hmm.
After the cap balloon in 2 summers, $7m/yr will be like today's $4m/yr. It's actually one of the more reasonable contracts this year.
Half of the money in his contract is because he is a Canadian. Simple as that. The Raptors is going no where, they need some gimmick to sell the tickets.
i think it's an ok contract considering other contracts this summer. they had to offer him a bit over mid level to get him quickly. Otherwise some team might've offered him midlevel plus a starting gig, like Dallas or Utah. Houston wanted to give 24 mil IIRC to Sergio Llull, is that better than 30 mil to Cory Joseph? Joseph has shown he can play in the NBA, and he won't need time to adjust to new rules. He's shown he can be big minutes backup on a contender and start some games if the starter is injured. Nice pick up. Exactly what you need if you have Lowry who can be fragile. I wish the Pacers went after him instead of spending 7 mil a year on Stuckey.
