He's going to be an awesome complementary player to Harden and Dwight. Strong, athletic, super versatile, smart, and unselfish. Big shot taker and big shot maker. Great intangibles, will do whatever it takes to win. Will develop into a very good two-way player. The thing with Sam is that he's not super comfortable being the go-to guy, he's not built to have an offense run through him. But he could develop into a MONSTER of a complementary player. He could be to Houston what Iggy is to Golden State. Ton of talent, but it'll manifest itself in the little things. Harden and Dwight will do the heavy lifting but he'll do everything they won't. People don't realize that his big games in the tournament weren't just a fluke. Everyone was freaking out about him but reality is the guy is talented as hell and has been for a long time. He just played on a really, really good college team where he wasn't the single focal point, and he compromised his aggressiveness to be the man in favor of winning. I think Dekker will average... wait for it... something like Chandler Parsons' rookie numbers. Around 8-10 ppg with 4 rebounds and a couple assists. I have a feeling we'll like him a lot in H-Town. How do you guys think Sam will do?
If ariza is carted out for lma we may need him to do produce even better than that. How is morey going to be able to find a vet replacement for ariza??
We really don't play rookies all that much. Yeah, yeah there was Parsons but that team was not coming off an appearance in the Western Conference Finals. I'm going with 2.4 PPG, 0.9 REB, 0.7 AST and a warm welcome to the rotation in 2015-16. **Pending injuries and the re-signing of Corey Brewer**
Bro that is really the worst case scenario for him. Its a long season we don't want to wear out veterans, we need them for the playoffs. If we have a guy that contribute now and help us get wins. We should play him as much time as he earn.
First of all, im not sure who you're calling a little boy but im definitely not one. Secondly, this isn't a ridiculous topic at all. If you don't like the topic's discussion then why'd you even bother commenting on it?
Ive been saying we don't play rookies...but if we lose TA and pick up LMA AND Llull, maybe the team throws Dekker out there. It wouldn't surprise me.
Unless we don't bring back KJ and Brewer, Sam will likely be in the D-League. His numbers there will be: 21ppg, 7rpg, 3apg on 52/34/72 shooting. NBA-DL Rook of the Year. But if we pass on KJ and Brewer, and Sam gets a regular 15-23 minutes, I predict his numbers with the big league team to be: 9ppg, 4rpg, 2apg on 45/34/74 shooting. 2nd Team All Rookie.
Back to Parsons' rookie year, our starting SF was Chase Budinger. It made sense to replace him.But now Ariza is great.Dekker may not have an ideal rookie year, unless Brewer go to somewhere else. I'd say 6+3+1
