So? There's a certain glee also that MIA lost Lebron.

Glee because teams were getting intimidated already by what we were planning to do.

Just a difference of opinion. Time for Morey's friends to do some spin, calling Bill Simmons etc.

Morey ain't done yet. If we land a big player this offseason, watch out.

I suppose its something like the glee that many felt when the Lakers went into lotteryland. People all over wanted this team to fail. But if you look at the reason why, it becomes clear that it was based on there prior success, and other teams jealousy of that success.

So in a way, its a compliment.

Nothing new, the league needed a new team to hate now that LeBron left Miami. At least the Clippers are fun to watch.

I don't think anything grossly unfair or inaccurate was said here. These guys respect Morey. They understand he has a process in place and works really hard. Though I suspect other GMs don't like Morey because he makes them look bad. He's like the guy at work that is always incredibly efficient and never slacks off. He makes the rest of us look relatively lazy so, even if he is great for the company, we personally dislike him because it puts our jobs at risk. People love to see that kind of guy fail because it justifies their own complacency. It's just jealousy plain and simple.

Morey is like those kids you grew up with that not only used big words you didn't understand but also knew how to spell them too.

The summer is not over yet and Daryl is still working the phones.

If anyone has any Glee, better wait until the end of the summer.
Odds are, there will be another trade before the end of the summer.

The fact that we have picked up so many players via free agency in the last couple of days, almost all of which are capable of putting in quality minutes as a rotation player on a team expected to make the playoffs means allot more of the guys that were on the team last year are more easily trade-able.

I just dont get it.. There is glee around the league because the Rockets didn't get what they want? Rockets almost never get what they want... Why should Morey and the Rockets be the focus of derision because they work hard and sometimes whiff and strike out? This is exactly why I think Morey is the hardest working GM in the league: Everyone, including media it seems, wants to see him fail.

It's always been easy to hate on Houston. It's funny how the dynamic of our team changed so rapidly over the past couple of years.

In the 2009-2012 years, Houston was the "good guy" team of the NBA. A team of good hard workers like Battier, Scola, Hayes, Dragic and so on really built that reputation. A lot of people admired our team because we had middling players that worked hard to win games. When they weren't mocking our inability to land the big star, they admired how we played basketball.

Everything changed from 2013 and on.

We stumble into James Harden and since then it seems we have rubbed people the wrong way. James Harden, while super effective, plays the foul/flop game which turns off a lot of watchers. And also people hated than he couldn't accept less money and broke the "golden team" in OKC.

Then we add Dwight Howard, fresh off the Dwightmare and all that drama. Dwight has been nothing but professional since he got here but the media still takes joy in bashing him.

Then the Patrick Beverley - Westbrook incident(s) took place and we all know the backlash of that.

Now we lose some player that actually made our team likable. Lin, for his faults as a young player and the frantic fans that followed him, was well liked. He brought that type of attitude that the '09-'12 teams brought; not being the best player on the court but was a hard worker. Asik, when he wasn't "injured", was a workhorse that people like. Even Parsons, before it became clear how inflated his ego has gotten, was well liked.

Then we have Morey, who a lot of people respect but really wish he didn't succeeded. Being the smartest person in the room wares on people and how he went from joke of the NBA to now having two star players while having an arrogance rubs people the wrong way.

Well this means something we already know. The Rockets are a very relevant franchise, enough to where other fans are breaking a sweat over our team.

Like Jim said above, take all the press as a compliment.

I dont think Morey made two many fans hen he got Asik and Lin on those poison pill contracts and I am sure other GMs were glad to see that neither really worked out for the Rockets.
