Actor Tracy Morgan in Critical Condition after Car Crash

Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan is in intensive care following a limo bus crash along the New Jersey Turnpike, NBC10.com has learned.

The 45-year-old former "Saturday Night Live" star was traveling in a limo bus that overturned around 1 a.m. Saturday morning near Exit 8A of the Turnpike in Cranbury, New Jersey state police tell NBC10.com. That's north of Trenton.

State police say a preliminary investigation has found that a tractor trailer came up upon slow moving traffic and caused the crash. Six vehicles -- two tractor trailers, the limo bus, an SUV and two cars -- all were involved, state police said.

The "30 Rock" actor was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is in intensive care, state police confirm.

James McNair, a 63-year-old of Peekskill, N.Y., was killed in the crash, state police say. Three other men were listed in critical condition, state police said. All of the injured were on the limo bus.

Morgan had a scheduled performance at Dover Downs Casino in Dover, Delaware last night.

Stand-up comedian Ardie Fuqua posted a photo to Instagram around midnight showing Morgan in front of a crowd. His Facebook page said he was opening for Morgan.

"This is what it looks like from the stage to see a standing ovation from 1,500 people," the photo's caption read. "Then we traveled back to NYC in style in a luxury Mercedes Sprinter. Road life is a good life!"

It is unclear whether Fuqua was on the limo that overturned.

The Turnpike was closed for more than five hours as officials investigated the crash. The highway was reopened around 6:30 a.m.

There a many different types of Limo Bus's, some are nothing more than a very long luxurious van. These, are very comfortable to ride in, but are generally less safe to ride as well! In a Limo van you have all the amenities that a regular limo has with the addition of being able to stand and walk around while the vehicle is moving, which obviously puts you at greater risk of injury if the van is involved in an accident and is knocked to it's side! Because of it's size you think you are better protected when in actuality it's the opposite if you're are not secured by a seat belt!

I hope that there are no further casualties from this accident! I wish Tracy and all the people involved a godspeed recovery!

I hope they call recover. RIP to the man that died.

Hopefully, they were all wearing seatbelts, too. But, being in a limo van, I'm not so sure.

The guy who died is a comedian friend of Tracy's who went by the stage name Jimmy Mack.
