A beer aficionado friend of mine just posted that in Vermont, if you lose at Candy Land, you have to drink a Rolling Rock. That reminded me of the rules we made up as kids.

Here he is after losing, contemplating what he did wrong to deserve such fate.

In the Army (AI), we used to play Risk. Our rule was that since we are trying to conquer the world while wearing Army fatigues, you had to be smoking a cigar the whole game like Buck Turdgidson, and if it goes out, you miss a turn.

We would just get baked and play candy land. Could never finish the game without fights.

Is your friend Vince Vaughn's older brother, Zince Vaughn?

Was apart of a kickball group that met up every Sunday around 3 PM until sundown. They called it sloshball. If you run the bases with a beer in your hand, you score 2 runs. Likewise, it's 2 outs if you catch a pop fly with a beer in your hand. If a play is too close to call, you had a chug off vs the person contesting it. Whoever chugs a beer down first wins the ruling. Head organizer of it all called himself the Kicktator (ho ho, ha ha), was an electrician by trade but he'd organized meet ups every Sunday. Was a lot of fun but got old for me. Nice way to get stoned, drunk, and be around a bunch of social people while getting a little teeny bit of exercise in there though.

Sloshball is very common. Especially in Austin

Good call. Never noticed the resemblance.

Here is Vince when he realizes that he just lost at Candy Land, and must drink a Rolling Rock

As kids, we usually just tease the loser until they cry.

Don't know if card games count, but one of my favorite "Uno" rules is that everyone passes their hand to the next person if someone plays a "0".

The "winner needs one more point than you currently have", when playing Settlers of Catan and someone you don't like is about to win.

Used to play Stratego with three or four complete games to create enormous battlefields.

We did the same thing with Avalon Hill games. Like putting Normandy/D-Day together with Battle of the Bulge, Stalingrad, Anzio, Africa Corp and Midway.

We used to have some pretty extensive revenue sharing agreements in Monopoly wherein you might receive a cut from someone's property based on prior agreements.

Hey! I thought Avalon Hill went under cuz my best friend, his older brother and I were the only ones playing their games. Nice to know there were more. I just pulled Classic Statis-Pro Baseball out this weekend for the first time in about a decade.

Seriously, it's not a board game, more of a drinking game. Basically you said a sports players name (example) Yao Ming, then the next person would have to say a name that started with the first letter of that players last name, in turn I would say Mark Jackson, the next person would then say Julio Jones... when you get a double letter name it gets reveresed back to the person that just said Mark Jackson and so on.

If you don't say a name within 3 seconds you drink. After a few shots or chugs you're wasted within the first 10-15 minutes. Cool story bro. I know.

I wish I still had all my old AH games. I loved squad leader.
