Whats really odd... Diles has been out of football for a while, and we sign him to the active roster? I know there is preference given to former Texans, but it seems there have been at least one major scheme change since he was here last, so how well could he know it? And couldn't they find someone that at least has been playing?
He's played every year since he left. He was with the Titans last year. Didn't play much, but he was there. The fact is that if you're going to sign a vet at this point in the season, he's technically going to be "out of football" because he's not on an active roster and isn't eligible to be on a practice squad.

Could Zac Diles cover? I remember him being a pretty consistent guy. Never jumped out at you, but him and Demeco used to be a really really solid tandem.
He produced solid tackle numbers next to Demeco, but he broke his leg and didn't seem to fully come back.

It's interesting they did not take the opportunity to sign someone else off FA. I am hoping they bring someone up out of the PS and hopefully that one will be Max B. Or they may be bringing someone off of IR - hopefully Nix.
