Even the poll options are terrible Yes Don't care about sexual harassment unless there is penetration
What's she gonna tell Silver "He kissed me do something". Adam Silver probly laughed when he saw that.
What Tristan did was unprofessional and I could see the NBA reprimanding or at least warning him in that light. The reporter clearly felt awkward and likely embarrassed. Show a little more respect for people that are just trying to do their jobs, Tristan. But sexual harassment? Unless the reporter herself felt harassed and disclosed that to the league either directly or via her bosses, I don't think it's a big deal. The OP is overreacting. However, Tristan would be wise to not do that ever again unless it's to a woman he's actually seeing.
Does the OP see more than what's on the surface? I don't see anything wrong here...you want him to be fined $1 million for kissing her on the temple? When did he imply he slept with her? Was this just a "cleverly" disguised attempt to trash Tristan Thompson? To even dare comparing this to Kobe is horrendously stupid. You are stupid. Don't ever compare a possible rape to someone kissing someone on the temple. Again, you are stupid. Very, very stupid.
Unprofessional? Yes. Worthy of a fine based on conduct policies with the media? Yes. Worthy to get the reporters opinion on the matter as discretely as possible? Yes. Confirmation bias white-knights abundant? Absolutely.
He's one of those annoying redditers that somehow infiltrated the Dish. She can defend herself. No need for sir white knight to save her.
If he is, then he's very consistently an odd bird. But yeah, I'm treating it like a troll thread even if it's not. And if it's not, you have to wonder why someone would be so emotional about that harmless few seconds of footage. People kiss each other all the time in other cultures, by the way. I have a French friend and she's always going in for the cheek tap (no, not that cheek, and not that tap. Sheesh.)
The poll does have 40% of respondents voting YES. I think the people who see it as uncomfortable for the women are not as vocal as the guys trying to overcompensate like "oh it's not a big deal, I fantasize about kissing women at work all the time." Hilarious to see them white knighting for Tristan Thompson. The woman obviously is in a compromising position, can't speak out about it, but they expect her to jeopardize her job to tell the athlete to back off and quit objectifying her in front of the camera's. Pretty ironic that this was the day Monica Lewinsky gave a huge speech about her scandal and how she overcame it. Now I'm not saying that based on this incident alone, but all the small incidents that lead to something bigger when a woman doesn't ring fire alarms. Lewinsky was a pariah and made fun of/bullied for over a decade because she "spoke up". Silver needs to act.
lol looked kinda awkward and unprofessional for an interview but a million dollar fine seems kinda harsh
Coming down hard is what gets guys into this kind of trouble in the first place. Anyways, another par for the course post by river guy.
