So it seems... Then again, when they first announced the plans it sounded like a done deal. Ryan is talking about them still taking bids and vetting companies as if they just decided to make the changes.
I doubt the statistic exists, but it would be interesting to know how many fly balls from last year would have been home runs were the fences moved to where they are to be next year.

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-most-difficult-homer-in-baseball/ Between 85 and 90 degrees, ie Tal's Hill, only 6 homers have been hit in MMP since 2006. At other end of spectrum, 127 hit between those angles in Cincy. I do have found memories of Cards fans complaining about Cards getting robbed while Astros getting cheap HRs in LF. Also the above has a beautiful rendition of MMP from hitters perspective.
Isn't the Hill a native American burial ground...Let's get this buried in legal red tape and save the Hill.
I'm all for maximizing revenue, but not at the expense of changing the park dimensions... and likely resulting in a change in the park factor for HR's. If the hill/foul-pole is truly unsafe (which its not), get rid of it... but keep the same distance/dimensions/wall-height. They've never been able to fully maximize the space beyond CF on the concourse (due to the batters eye), and I wish there would be a way to implement the proposed changes without changing the dimensions.
Could they not keep the hill even with the renovation? Also, the dimensions of MMP is gonna be pretty small now.
Batter's Eye. There's something similar in every ballpark, though this does seem to be quite a bit too far into LCF.
Check out the scoreboard. They envision the Astros getting whooped by the Rangers again next year. Astros losing 5-0 after 5 innings.
I think that's 0 runs 2 hits 1 error 1 run...either why its pretty silly. With the new seats, I'm thinking this was partially financially driven.
I hate this idea. Our ballpark plays pretty neutral and this is going to kill that. Can they raise the yellow line or something? How can you have the Crawford boxes, the short distance to right and now an average center field. No likey.
Looks like the angle will be farther than 409'. It will still take well struck ball to leave CF.... everywhere else, not so much.
