The only threat I believe is the Spurs. Warriors can pretty much mop the floor with any team in the west.

We need to be the hottest team going into the playoffs. Now, not so much. Just get everyone gelling and healthy. April is where I want this team to show people who's boss.

Like heypartner said, this is not about which team is "best" across the era, but about who "beat the peer the most" within the season. Adding SoS doesn't help because SoS converge at the end of the season.

Hard to believe in just 3 short years the Warriors turn from being a laughing stock who did not play a lick of defense to an absolute juggernaut.

There's a better than usual shot that this year's GSW team turns into that Dallas team rather than one of the champions. 1. They haven't had any postseason success yet; most prior champions have at least gotten to the conference finals in previous years; and 2. OKC is coming for you.

That's so true. It is extremely rare for the best player on a Title team to have not previously been in a Finals...not just Conf Finals, but the whole thing.

Off the top of my head:

    • Wade had never been in the Finals, but win or lose, that year had two team with stars that were Finals newbies. Either Wade or Nowitzki had to win.
    • Detroit, Rasheed and Billups were newbies
    • MJ won his first title without ever being to the Finals before

That's it, no? Since 1980, at least, only Wade, Detroit and MJ have won titles without ever being in the Finals before.

I wouldn't bet on Curry winning this year, based on that stat.

'04 Pistons, '08 Celtics, '99 Spurs, off the top of my head.

Thx. Yeah, those three plus MJ's first and Wade.

And that is Finals experience. When you look at Conf Finals experience, then it's only Wade and Duncan.

'04 Pistons lost in Conf Finals the year before
'08 Celtics had Garnett and Pierce with Conf Finals experience
MJ lost in Conf Finals to Detroit

How did the 13th best ever team go? The 93/94 Sonics?

This whole thing is just another example of the national media disrespecting the Rockets.

The 93/94 Rockets (our winningest ever team) are only ranked as the 237th best team. (are there only 65 seasons of NBA champions?).
For the curious, our highest ranked team is last years team, coming in at 175th.

You know whats crazy about the Warriors? How young there core is, or can be.

    Curry - 26
    Thompson - 24
    Barnes - 22
    Green - 24
    Speights - 27

Iggy, Lee and Bogut are all old deteriorating and on expensive contracts, the Warriors could probably easily dump them and sign better, younger versions of them, if not a whole additional all star instead.

    Scary.
