I know this is an ambiguous question. But I think you guys will get what I mean. I am curious to hear what you think.

Where is the line of being cautious and living life in fear? Meaning, at what point is one going overboard, being too overprotective (almost paranoid), and not enjoying life? It is the "what if" questions. I want to do this, but what if this happens? What if...what if..what if.? I know this question is relative as well. I would infer it may be a generational thing.

Moreover, as in parenting, or with an adult living his or her life relatively conservatively, or too timid to try new things. Another way of wording this is at what point do we make the fear of the unknown too big of an issue?

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

When it affects things you would otherwise do normally... that's when.

Basically, you have to remember, you could die tomorrow. With that being said, live life to the fullest. No regrets.

If you analyze many situations and their risk/reward you will find that your fear is completely irrational. For most people after school age, life is long and boring. If you don't take chances and pursue the things that give your life meaning you are essentially dead anyway.

Whenever I hear about how horrible it is today I try to remind people of 1914 - 1945 -- WWI, deadly Flu pandemic (500,000,000 infected), near complete collapse of the world's finances, WWII, etc. Now that was a bad period of human history -- many of us today are possibly living in a rare Belle Époque and have no idea how good things actually are.

    Breakdown on the shoreline
    Can't move, it's an ebbtide
Morning don't get here 'til night
    Searching for her silver light

And I can't get it out of my head
No, I can't get it out of my head
Now my old world is gone for dead
'Cos I can't get it out of my head

Sometimes we need to relax and just take life's problems head on.

I don't worry to much about myself. I hate the idea of something happening to my children, sister and wife.
