    "Ragan’s problem was two-fold"
    _____

I think it was more than two folds.

My wife is a nurse and this happens more often than you think. She says it's take her and 7 other nurses/orderlies to lift these people.

make it a less hazardous job for them if they'd get a forklift.. no reason to have nurses hurting their backs on the job

Sounds like her problem was three fold... she also had tumors on her spine.

Seriously, I mean, chick sounds big, but 275 isn't like Guiness Book big, and sounds like they were pretty insensitive... maybe they were being serious, but sounds insulting. Now it's in the news. And after all that, there WAS another MRI machine (not in the zoo, i assume) that suited her needs.

People are sometimes unbelievable in how they treat each other.

You don't think the media (especially Fox News) would go out of their way to portray the hospital in the worst possible light in an effort to increase the shock value of the story, do you? Naw, that would never happen.

How do you tell someone they have to use a machine normally reserved for hippos and and pachyderms, nicely?
275 lbs ain't crazy big. But in a 5ft frame? It's not Guiness record big but this ain't no Guiness record MRI machine either.

LOL. Cue the FAT HOMER jokes! :D
 Why did he get mad? Because he didn't know his wife was BIGGER than "most people"?!?!?!?

"What? My wife is big!?!?!?! You a-holes!!!! I will sue you!!!!!"
    Translation:
"What? I've let my wife turn into a blimp!!?!?!??? I'm stupid!"

Yeah, I see why he could get mad. Perhaps the doctors should have started with "Hey, this is what we say to everyone who's as large as your wife: 'I'm terribly sorry, sir, but I'm afraid our facilities...'"

My mom cracked a vertebra in her back and was put out of commission for a long time trying to help lift a 300-400 lbs. patient... sad.

I guess the most frustrating part about to me is..

Morbidly obese fat people like this are, themselves, responsible for putting themselves in such a state. And then, they expect the rest of the world to cater to them.

I heard Carolyn Ragan went to a restaurant, ate all the food in the restaurant, and then they had to close the restaraunt.

lose weight you dumbass..maybe thats why you are having spine problems to begin with.

fat people are pissing me off. the average waist size has gone up so much it's getting tough to find pants that fit a normal person.

Fat and stupid...what a combination. Whatever humiliation they endured at the hospital is nothing compared to an article being published by FoxNews telling the world that you're too fat to fit into an MRI machine. Seriously, why would you contact the news about such a thing?

I have nothing against overweight people, but they've got to realize that the problems aren't that...

-the airline seats are too small...
-the door frames are too thin...
-the MRI machines are too narrow...

...it's simply that they are too big.

Like others said...they DO fit "most everybody"...
