I would like to know how many points Dirk, Lebron and Wade would get if they put up 40 shots a game.

not that big of a deal when:
    1) ur opponent is the no D "Phoenix wannabe" Grizzlies
    2) When you are the number 1, 2, and 3 offensive option on ur team (seriously their team has no talent other than kobe and odom, kudos to Phil for keeping them alive in the playoffs)
    3) when you shot 18 free throws in a game

but.....bottomline....they won the game....so nice game kobe!!! :)

Kobe was the 4th player who score 50+ for 3 games in a row.

Those guys were Wilt/ Baylor/ MJ

    Hahaha. Let the bias continue.

20-37=54%. Effeciency. Something tracy mcgrady knows nothing about :D

But seriously, Jerry west last season said about kobe's 81 that if you give someone 40 shots like kobe did, they wouldn't touch 81. And it's true. Kobe's mental ability to stick to his guns combined with sheer tenacity is the reason why he is scoring so much.

i'm sure they'd score a lot, but it's not like he shot 20-48 or something, 20-37 is pretty good and the 17-18 at the line makes it damn efficient.

kobe sure keeps getting lucky to run into all these bad defenses 3 games in a row. probably the first time that's happened.

when you're only the 4th to ever do something in nba history, it's good no matter what.

and elgin always slips in with wilt and mj in these scoring stats. that 61-63 stretch was really good to him (and everyone) in terms of scoring and rebounding stats.

wow...i like how you rip him for getting to the line that many times as if it is easy. and I like how you dismiss this as not that big of a deal. scoring 60 against ANY nba team is an amazing accomplishment. scoring 50 in 3 straight is just mindblowing...you can't just write it off as not that impressive.

It's always amazing how people can find a way to bash a guy for turning in one of the all time great scoring streaks. The guy's team is 3-0 in these games, right?

That about sums it up. But if the Lakers didn't have Kobe, they'd be 17-52 as well, Bynum need a few more years to get better, then they might have a chance to have a decent offense attack other than relying on the sporadic play of the supporting cast

20 for 37 is nothing to scoff at. I just hope he got it out of his system so he won't have anything left in the tank for us.

Efficiency my azz. Everyone gets hot once in a while and Jerry West is just a lakers homer.

There are plenty of guys, if shoot 40 times every game, will get to 81 eventually.
