I'm worried that the upcoming salary cap changes will make for a boring trade deadline.

That's where the TPE could come in. Use it to absorb salary and then send that salary back out as trade filler. Don't send out guys who are key contributors on an already weak part of our team.

Sorry for double post. Can't edit my comments.

The lower the Rockets salary going into next season, the less useful the TE is. And if they don’t make a major move mid-season, they’re going to have a lot of cap room anyway. Perhaps even rendering the TE basically useless if the cap rises to over $70 million, a level that matches the new TV deal.

There’s honestly no reason for the Rockets to stay pat unless disaster strikes with Harden or Howard. If they’re going to make one or more moves, might as well use all their assets.

Why a 3rd star?? The team is playing GREAT!!!! They need a quality backup 5 but why gut the team? This is stupid!!!! This is what Morey keeps doing and it will never let the guys gel , no chemistry will form!!

Go get a solid 5 to come off the bench, this team is pretty damn solid AS IS!!
