With what you know right now about these draft classes, grade them together.

    1. DeAndre Hopkins --
    2. D.J. Swearinger --
    3. Brennan Williams -- CUT
    3. Sam Montgomery -- CUT
    4. Trevardo Williams -- CUT
    6. David Quessenberry --
    6. Alan Bonner -- CUT
    6. Chris Jones -- CUT
    6. Ryan Griffin --

Deandre might be the only good player from this draft.

    1. Jadeveon Clowney
    2. Xavier Su'a-Filo
    3. C.J. Fiedorowicz
    3. Louis Nix
    4. Tom Savage
    6. Jeoffrey Pagan
    6. Alfred Blue
    6. Jay Prosch
    7. Andre Hal--
    7. Lonnie Ballentine -- CUT

Clowney has been injured, XSF looks horrible, Nix and Savage have contributed nothing. Pagan played 4 plays last night.

    Ballentine is on IR, right?

    Blue, Prosch, Hal show promise...

2013 is agreed by all to be a complete failure. 2014 is starting to pan out as horrible as well. XSF played the most he has all year and he was REAL bad. The only time I hear C.J. Fiedorowicz's name is from a ref.

These two years are important because you can't blame Kubiak for 2014. These two classes have one common, yet TEFLON, guy behind them.

This is so tired. Judging a draft before even a year has gone by is absolutely laughable. Where is the patience? It can take as many as three years to know what a guy is. People crucified Duane Brown and Kareem in the same manner. They eventually turned into quality players. Even Watt didn't come on until the second half of his rookie season. It's not always an easy transition from college to the NFL for the top-tier prospects let alone the guys below them. And furthermore, Hopkins and Swearinger keep the 2013 draft from being a "complete" failure.

And some of you sound like Rick Smith murdered your mother. None of us know exactly what he does. I'm guessing McNair does, though, because he meets with everyone constantly. If Smith were behind everything then he'd be gone by now. Smith was brought in AFTER Kubiak and has never had the final call on any decision. The rumor has always been that Smith scouts guys to see whether they fit the coaches' schemes and then gives his opinion on the guy. He's also responsible for the cap so if you want to go after him for something then go after him for that.

Yes, he's on IR. He wasn't cut. And yes, those guys do show promise. And Su'a Filo and CJ along with Clowney have a lot of talent. We'll know more about all of these guys in a couple of years.

The way I see it, the most recent draft wasn't long enough ago to fully judge it but XSF has a lot of talent and potential, Fiedorowicz is in the same boat as a blocker and as a receiver, Prosch is already contributing to the team, Blue is already contributing to the team, Clowney is just getting over a turf related injury but he's shown flashes and projects as a future pro bowler, and Hal has a way to go but could be a contributor as early as the end of this year.

Last year's draft gave us Nuk and DJ, both of which are improving but should be solid contributors to the team for many years. The rest of last year's draft was a bust.

And now BOB probably has the final say.

I'm not crazy about the coaching staff having the final say. Separation of Church and State, yo!

The problem is the ownership allowing people to perform duties outside of their expertise. Kubiak and BOB should certainly have a say in who is drafted, but not complete control. In the end, their job is to coach what's on the roster, and fit schemes, etc. to players' strengths. A GM should be able to bring in top scouts and evaluate draft talent and balance need with BPA. That's not really what's happening here - we have a puppet GM who is an average to poor talent evaluater.

I'm still very happy with the 2014 , however a more complete grade will come once Clowney actually starts playing . The fact that many of our late rounders are already contributing speaks well for the draft as well as how crappy our depth is . Many of those late rounders also have nice upside too . Sure XSF and fredora haven't looked great bit they are also rookies 6 weeks in and have great potential still. Also Louis Nix had/has gigantic upside and rightfully no one complained when he was picked (in fact many felt he was a great sleeper). He has a year to get fully healthy and has the benefit of a great medical staff . Also he can study the playbook while sitting this year . It's no different than redshirting a QB , only in his case it is due to injury . If he doesn't play next year hen you can start to grade him . Savage may be hit or miss but a fourth round Qb with his physical attributes is a nice pick.

Of course there can be criticism about not reading up etc... But the players we DO have , have all the same upside that made the draft highly graded when it actually happened less than a half a year ago . THAT plus the fact that some our later round picks seem like they can become solid contributors has this draft still looking very good.

Besides Mathieu and Terrance Williams, there probably isn't someone I'd have taken over Jungle Boi Swagg

if hopkins turns out to be a holy phenom and swearinger a really good safety with griffin as a good TE that is a borderline great draft. you also have to add Aj bouye to that draft. He is an ambiturner. Probably the only cb who can turn his head both left and right to locate ball.

The one from 2012 though, that one is ooglay though i really like crick and brooks.
    2011 -fantastic.
    2010 - but her face.
    2009- very sexy.
    2008- was good.
    2007- disaster, evacuate katy.

    2014 is too early.
    2006- good times.

It is Uncle Bob at the helm... Not shocked it is mediocre at best... My guess is Smith and Uncle Bob get Charlie Casserly on the horn on draft day and take turns drafting.

2013 is historically bad, like a fan with with Mel Kiper's Big Board would do better.

2014 is looking promising. The team has gotten ZERO from the #1 pick in the entire draft. Nix is a joke and the "pride" of the draft is a back up running back that has been "okay".

Glad your bowel movements are starting to have more consistency...:)

Combo grade: To Be Determined(best time to evaluate draft classes is after 3 years)...I will wait. So far things arent looking to good; especially the fact that we have to combine 2014 with 2013...
