There is something to that. I think this is a disease of all the Europlayers. They play during the summer in their respective national teams. They come in in better shape than the others to the training camp and preseason games. The season starts OK, but then comes the backlash. The other players are on a upward trend when these guys run out of gas. That's the kiss of death. They lose their minutes, then confidence and finally they get traded or waived towards the playoffs. You have to remember that players like Casspi and Garcia get to do things in the pre-season that in regular season games are dedicated to the stars. Anyway, I think Houston made a bad decision in bringing Papanicolau instead of Casspi. Casspi, with one fifth of salary would have played equally to Papanicolau, who does not have any NBA experience. What's done is done. Let's see how my prediction turns out.
Looks like that. They (SAC) derailed the Clippers in LA (I saw the game) after winning over Portland two days earlier. Casspi had a great game. Casspi is playing limited minutes (14.8 MPG), but seems to be on the court in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line. Seems like he is the guy that finds Cousins under the rim. His stats so far are 6.7 PPG with 66.7% from the field and 100% from the stripe (8-8!), grabs 4 rebounds in those 14.8 mins (0.7 offensive, 3.3 defensive) and has 1.3 APG. SAC looks like a very good fit for him.
Happy for him, but I'll withhold any predictions until he's been playing at least a couple of months. Never forget that a sizable portion of the bbs was calling for Casspi at stretch 4...
Funny enough Casspi played the SG in the 4th qtr and did it very well. Kept JJ Reddick at bay. Well, Cousins did just about what he wanted against the Clips defense. However, the Kings defense is really, really tough. No freebees there.
So far Casspi and the rest of the Sactown players appear to be very much alive. I'd say, at a level that starts to create headache to other teams.
Casspi will falter eventually. It's what he is. Cuz won't continue this production over the long 82 and the Kings will slide. They will win more than 28 games though.

The problem is Harden and Dwight were too selfish to wear headbands thus not allowing Caspi to unlock his true potential
He found is roll. Kings Notes: Casspi Turning Heads http://www.nba.com/kings/blog/kings-notes-casspi-turning-heads currently 52.6 FG%(20-38) 2p%63.3 (19-30) and 88.9 FT%(24-27) + great hustle and defence.
Casspi was not a bad player, he just was not consistent and was keen on taking bad shots. The other problem was our offense, he needed a Rick Adelman type system where all the players on the court are sort of equal and you just can move the ball and slash inside.
Casspi will prove you wrong, clutchfans forum! long live Casspi - the handsome, the skilled, the true beast!
