Minnesota Timberwolves center Darko Milicic has tipped the ball into his own basket on a jump ball against the Washington Wizards.

Jumping against Wizards forward Al Thornton at one end of the court in the first quarter Thursday night, Milicic batted the ball backward and right into the basket. Thornton was credited with the bucket, the easiest two points he'll ever get.

The grumpy Milicic just shrugged and headed back down the court as the hometown crowd let out a groan.

Funny that they would use the adjective "grumpy" in a news story.

Uh, considering he was picked before Wade, Melo and Bosh ... yeah!

In the coming years, I'd be willing to bet he won't even put up the same numbers Sam Bowie did when he was in his prime (haha) at age 28-30.

I remember a game where Popeye Jones did something similar, but he scored on his own basket.

Is it a legal play to tap a ball into your basket on a jump ball? If not, then this basket should not have counted.

yes, it's counted as the last offensive player to touch the ball, in this case the guy he was doing the jump ball against.

Popeye Jones did it before in a game vs the T-Wolves.

    Best I could find.

You can tap it in but you can't catch it in the air and shoot it

simpler put, you can't grab a jump ball; you must tip it.

They really blew this out of proportion.

I guarantee if LeBron James had done this, everyone would be scared to post an article about this.

But since it is lowly Darko, the Darko that is labeled a bust, the Darko that was picked before Wade, Bosh, etc, the world is allowed to laugh at him, for tipping a ball into his own basket.

There are far more interesting things to do with one's time than write an article about this, no matter how short the article is.

What the hell are you talking about? Why people would be scared of Lebron lol. I'm pretty sure there's gonna be at least 2-3 reposts instead.
