the same larry brown that hops teams, shows no commitment, wants to trade every single player he has? I think Cal's got the edge
Mercenary though he may be, Larry Brown is still one of the greatest coaches of all time. And as a Cougar, I'd be ecstatic to have him in our conference. Would be massive for SMU.....
Rumor is that he has some quality assistants and a coach in waiting coming along too. If true that makes this a great move
Mudiay was a strong UK lean for so long don't know what happened. Well they said he is very religious and SMU is close to home.
Great, I honestly think he could have built a dynasty in Indianapolis. Hope he's not too old and that SMU gets something to be proud of; similar to Rice, they're actually too good a school to waste time and money trying to succeed at football again.
As an alum of SMU, I was pretty stoked when we hired June Jones, but seeing how that turned out (good but not great), I was less than "all-in" on the Larry Brown hire. My buddy texted me about this move, and the first thing I thought of was, "wonder when the investigations will begin?" Mudiay attended Prime Prep Academy which was founded by Deion Sanders. Deion's son is now playing football at SMU (and has received scrutiny for being at a Lil Wayne concert). I just hope they are doing things on the up and up.
I was going to say wow this will be big. Then I saw that he coached SMU last year and nothing was heard of it. Another lateral move for Dallas! I love it!

Is SMU the best college team in Texas already?? Just beat Memphis by 15 and Cincinnati by 20 in the last week
Sadly, that's not saying much these days. I think the best-case scenario is to have three Texas schools in the tourney - UT, SMU and SFA.
Guy is a really good coach. Maybe the rockets should hire him. He might stick around a season or two.
#23 in AP Poll! Pony Up! Finally good to see Larry Brown's hard work getting some recognition in the media!
