Ok, from reading many of these posts it seems that a lot of fans want a PG who can knock down the open 3. While Eric Snow is a shameful 3 PT shooter he has many other qualities that we need. He's a good perimeter defender, great assist type PG, and a leader. On the other hand you have a guy like Brent Barry, 33, who can drain the 3, but lacks defense. Then you have the best of both worlds in my opinion, and that is D-Fish.

I however don't feel that the PG needs to be able to shoot 3's. However, if the Rockets wanted to surround Yao and McGrady with shooters then we should look into the following players who can possibly be had cheap.

Brian Cardinal- 3rd in the NBA in 3PT shooting % (FA), has workman like attitude, definetely a JVG type player.

Anthony Peeler- 1st in NBA in 3PT shooting % (FA) & he is a known defender on the perimeter.

Also, keep in mind that the Rockets should have better 3PT shooters on the floor regardless of who we add. I expect the following players to become 3PT bombers, if healthy.

Tyronne Lue- Undersized but if rotated off of can drain the 3 (33% shooter from 3 Point Land).

Jim Jackson- Will get more looks now that McGrady is in town & he shot 40% last year. Also, should not play as many minutes so fresh legs will help.

Bostjan Nachbar- Should see more minutes at SF & can hit the 3 if left open. Look for a breakout year from "The Slovenian Slinger"

Eric Piatkowski- Assuming we don't trade him Pike should be able to improve upon last year & provide the 3PT gunning we expected.

I really don't think we have a shortage of 3PT shooters even after we lose Cat. But keep those names I mentioned in mind.
