still forcing myself to watch, reluctantly. it's like a chore to watch at this point. i'm in too deep though. it's gotten progressively worse at a rapid pace, IMO. bravo to them for sucking me in in the first 2 seasons or so. and while we're at it, bravo to you too, dexter.
Just watched the first episode from this season and was not impressed. Too many plot lines. Spoiler Tara still around. Bad writing.
Don't care for a certain someone being turned into a vamp but do like the Eric and Bill storyline with the Authority, personally I've enjoyed it thus far. 1st season is still my favorite though and nothing afterward has been able to recapture that spark.
The 2nd and 3rd episode of this season has been the best episodes since season 1. Spoiler I wish Tara would just *****ing die though.
i don't think i've met a single person that isn't pissed about tara... but yea, the last few episode have been good due to the fact we got to see flashbacks of pam, other than that it just doesn't compare with the first two seasons which wee amazing.
I am also less enthused about this season. I think they went off the rails last season, and basically giving them a last chance to right the ship-- uhh, train. Spoiler I have to give them some credit for recognizing that they had to get Tara out of this suck spiral she was in (though it is their fault for making her so terrible in the first place, for having such a lame way of killing her off, and a lame excuse for turning her into a vampire). She was not so annoying in season 1 and I actually like the actress, so it's possible they can turn her back into a worthwhile character. The way they are heading so far though, she's still pretty damn annoying.
I'm with you. It's an enjoyable show. If you are going to get overly critical about it, then how about just move on to another show that maybe will meet up with your expectations? Maybe because there are so few that actually do? It's good entertainment. It entertains me, anyway. Why you would be interested in a show you feel you have to heavily criticize eludes me? Or, watch it and criticize it until you hate it to death. But, chances are you are still watching it anyway.
Anyone read the books? Is Tara's character the same in the book? [I know in the book she is white but I mean attitude wise] Rocket River
i was just curious if it got any better after the first episode or if retained its downward spiral from last season.
They are nothing alike. Tara is barely mentioned and is only a very minor character. It's a shame that they didn't follow the books. The first half dozen were really good and could have translated well to TV. The last few books have been really bad though. The TV show and books are pretty much worthless anymore.
