I love me some anime. I'm watching One Piece, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, Fairy tail, FMA Brotherhood, and Blue Exorcist. Already watched Cowboy Bebop, FMA 1st season, Death Note, and Dragon Ball Z.

One Piece is my favorite anime of all time.

Such a shame it's such a short series.

If you are talking about anime series it would be Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Nothing compare to those two and the others totally not my taste. Still need to watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

My favorite is Rurouni Kenshin, but with very few exceptions, the manga is usually better than the anime.

I think I'm much of a casual watcher.

My favorites these days are those with realistic romance and other "slice of life" stories.

    Kinda like this one.

Haha, says the guy named "Cowboy_Bebop"

But I agree. Bebop IMO is the best anime ever, also Ghost and Champloo are both great. But Bebop is just the complete package for me as far as soundtrack, action, story, pretty much everything.

    Death Note also was great.

Naruto is underrated though (as crazy as that sounds) because people always peg it as some kids show similar to Pokemon when it is far far from that. Especially as the series goes on. I think Naruto is a lot better than similar shows like DBZ and Bleach

I think I quit watching when they started doing over a whole year of filler (2-3 years ago?), and finally caught up to speed in the past couple of months. Have to say the latter part of the Shippuden is very good.

My favorite anime from years ago was Hikaru no Go, even though I still have little idea how the game works :p Other good ones I've seen include Shingetsutan Tsukihime, GTO, FMP: Fumoffu, and Chrno Crusade.

Just added Cowboy Beebop to my Netflix queue. The description makes it sound like Firefly.

The Robotech series or The Last Airbender is the best all-time; followed by Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, CardCaptors, and that one with the three kung fu kids and the flying dragon.

    My recommendation: Slam Dunk.

Yes, there was an anime version, but the manga is far and away the better route. It was serialized from 1990-1996 and it is cited as one of the main catalysts for popularizing the game of basketball in Japan during the 90s.

The era coincides with the Jordan era (and the Rockets back-to-back championship days), so there are many nods to NBA legends, rivalries, and background stories that make the game so interesting.

Here's a plot synopsis from wikipedia:

I wholeheartedly recommend this series for anyone who is into shonen manga, who also has an appreciation for the game of basketball. Heck, even if you know nothing of the rules of the sport, Slam Dunk is sure to turn you into a basketball fan.

    My all-time fav:

Can't seem to get in to anime any more though.

(by the way, Avatar is an American-made cartoon. Not sure if it qualifies as Anime)

Yu Yu Hakusho is a great series that is in the same fighting series category that you like. Watch the American dub, though. It is one of the few that beats the original manga and Japanese sub.
