"Last on Artest/Lakers: team source denied it all the way. Don't know why but it twists my gut. Goes to show: none of us are foolproof."

LOL, I can imagine Ron pulling a stunt like this. He's crazy enough.

EDIT: He's obviously going to the Lakers guys... I don't know why Bucher is saying this. No need for speculation. Just a funny tidbit. It's from his twitter by the way.

Ok, this would be hilarious if Ron decides to go elsewhere, and LA loses out on Ariza as well. Please make it happen. :D

Or how about if this was an elaborate ploy engineered by the Rockets to make the Lakers and Ariza think that Ron was going there. That way the ROckets get Ariza, and then they sign and trade Ron to another team (like, say, Cleveland) and get something in return for him. That would be sweet.

He was just on ESPN confirming it.

He even did a sportscenter thing. It's on the front page of ESPN.com.

I don't think even Artest would do this as a publicity stunt.

But man oh man if we still have Artest.

    Battier is definitely getting replaced.

Doubt artest would go on sportscenter and do an interview if he wasn't going to sign.

Carmichael Dave would beg to differ. Ron said it himself on the show.

There's a video on the front page of espn.com. It's an interview of Ron Artest talking about signing with the Lakers.

Unless he's the only one that thinks he will be a Laker, Ric Bucher's comment might be a bit outdated. How embarrassing for Ron if Ric is for real

I think the Lakers person is just denying all claims until the ink is dry.

But it would be a lot funnier if Artest and Morey conspired to make the Lakers think they are signing Artest, so Houston can swoop in for Ariza.... then have Artest return to Houston.

(If Ron's agent pulls that stunt, though, he will never work again).

Well, at least he didn't destroy Houston in the interview.

what? artest was on espn and the carmichael dave show saying he was a laker

unless if the mle is 5.6 then the lakers couldnt offer him a 6 mil/deal

18/3 years is the rumored it would have to be 16.8/3 years

i doubt that 1.2 million over 3 years would be the hold up in all of this?

thats all i could think of

It's a somewhat ambiguous tweet. I don't think he means the Artest report is false.

You may be right. I don't think teams say anything at all until the official signing day just to avoid tampering investigations

Closing this thread before this becomes yet another Twitter circus of confusion. I have no idea what Bucher's talking about, but if for some reason it turns out he's not going, and a legit site reports it, we can revisit.
