great article! all i can do is laugh. this is exactly who parsons is and has always been. overrated. he aint going to get better. he is what he is. he was overglorified in houston's offense because we played run and gun and his best skill is running the break, not in half court sets. we dodged a huge bullet not resigning parsons.

Too long an article for a role player.

    I am offended.

OP needs to go to the Carl H. school of thread naming.

He is exactly the same player as he was on the rockets.

People were confusing all the love for parsons with him being a great player rather than realizing he was just great value for his contract at the time.

Apparently that was enough to confuse Mark Cuban as well. Works for me.

    Yup.

So many of the things I read in that article were things that Houston fans have said about him last year and the year before. I sense Dallas fans wanting to wait it out, that he'll improve with time. Well, his rookie year was impressive. His second year was only slightly improved. And last year we were running out of excuses for his lack of solid improvement. He is what he is.

He might see some slight improvements from year to year, but he's not a consistent 3 point shooter. He shoots a flat shot. His strengths are cutting to the basket and playing amazing 1 on 1 defense against wing players, but he doesn't do this with Dallas (and stopped playing that kind of defense his sophomore year). And he's super streaky, one game looking like an All-star, the next 2 looking lost. He's not worth anything near a max contract, but there was always hope that he'd grow into one.

All that leads to Dallas fans guaranteed to be strung along for the next couple years until they too run out of excuses, just like we were.

Cuban screwed up. And he's probably figuring that out now.

Am I really the first one to point out that this has already been posted?

Chandler Parsons is offended by Mavs fans being offended by his offensive performance.

Hopefully Chandler can get Toyota Center security to shut this site down.

He's a very streaky shooter, nothing new here. Is like who did the Mavs think they were getting? he's the same player man, i can't see him improving much from there. There's never been any arch in his shot is just flat as hell maybe he can improve there a little.

Exactly. The question will be whether the Mavs would have been smarter to save their cap, even if that meant waiting until next offseason, and try to reel in a genuine max player. I guess they feel Dirk is running out of time, and they didn't want to wait. Or maybe Cuban wanted to "show up" Morey. So far, I think, Morey is getting the last laugh.

Funny how his poor defense is somehow attributed to his previous team. What a joke. If Carlisle is such a great coach, how come he can't coach out Standler's poor defense?

Also, if attributing his play to his former team, how come he sucks on offense all of a sudden?

Answer to both questions: Because Standler Portions lost his drive when he got paid.

My favourite quote from the article, so far...I've just finished my morning tea break...but here it is again, read it & let it sink in:

The Rockets' defense is the best in the NBA,
The Rockets' defense is the best in the NBA,
The Rockets' defense is the best in the NBA,

    Oh, how sweet it is!
