Based on the number and types of threads, I thought it might be useful to put a guide about 7 games series here - seeing as how we haven't won one in about 12 years. A lot of fans might not know what it's like or how winning one goes. 1. unless the road team wins the first two games of a series, you have no idea who will eventually win the series. And it's very rare a team goes up 2-0. Throw way all those stats about the winner of game one winning 70-some percent of the series. Why? Because many of those series are 1 vs 8 or 2 vs 7 seeds. So naturally the heavily favored team who opens at home will win the first game and go on to win the series. This is a 4 vs. 5 match-up. 2. Seven game series rarely end in sweeps....especially 4 vs. 5. Does anyone think we were going to sweep this series? That's why all the crazy posts about how we blew it and yao is figured out???? 3. THe early games of a 7 game series are more about teams learning about match-ups and feeling eachother out then setting the tone for the whole series. This series will go to game 6. You can't judge what happens after losing just one game. Now if we lose 2 games in a row the same way, that's a big worrisome trend. But that hasn't happened yet. 4. Getting a split on the road is magnificant. You've won HCA and all you have to do now is hold serve 5. The Rockets blew the team out AND nearly won the 2nd game ON THE ROAD. Imagine what will happen at home! 6. The deeper you go, the more experience counts. Rockets have the better experience. 7. It's a race to 4, not 1. So chill folks. Open up a beer. Don't bash Rick, or Yao, or anyone....yet
This series isn't going to 7. We'll close them out in either 5 or 6. God help us if it goes to 7 somehow.... that would suck.
