After an early season win against Miami, they are at 3-5 after nearly dropping a close one in OT to PHX. DWill got hurt and had to leave, but you've gotta wonder what's the problem. Is it Kidd?
According to Nets board it's mostly on DWill for their early season struggle. They're getting blown out when he's in there. The offense came alive after his injury and Livingston replaced him.
Who would expect NJ to be elite anyway if DWill's not fully healthy? Joe Johnson, Pierce, KG at this point are above average players but aging. Factoring in mediocre PG play, that sounds about right.
Old Bad/inexperienced coach No chemistry due to new lineup Old D-Will has been in decline for awhile, he just isn't what he used to be Brook Lopez is still the softest starting center in the NBA Did I mention they're old? This is one of those teams which looked better on paper than it actually is in reality. I don't expect them to go far in the playoffs.
Their roster is Frankenstein's monster: A bunch of disparate pieces sewn together. They need an experienced, strong-willed coach with proven system. Instead, they hired a complete novice. Jason Kidd should be coaching the Bobcats, Jazz or Bucks where he could learn, experiment and develop as a coach. Giving him a team that is supposed to contend was sheer lunacy.
If they don't turn it around, the players, coaches and GM Billy King are all about to get taken out Eastern Promises style.
Too many mouths to feed. Too many players that need the ball in their hands to be effective. Inexperienced coach, injuries, no real chemistry (yet?), etc.
Kidd has no idea what hes doing, DWill is not actually a superstar, Garnett/Pierce are so old they witnessed the birth of Christ
D will is super fat. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are given a smaller role due to Joe Johnson being the main scorer and closer. Kidd... Don't even want to talk about him.
