Thank goodness that next year's contract is non-guaranteed.

Don't they plan on keeping a few roster spots open for draft picks or a possible FA signing?

It could be insurance if Deke retires or they can't draft/trade for a replacement.

I like Loren Woods... I've used him in NBA Live '07 and he's good at blocking shots.

Big signing. Surely this puts us over the top and into the driver's seat for the championship for the next 2 years.

The guy should be given the chance to at least give up some fouls. I hope tonight he used more than he has been playing. It will not hurt to have him at least give up some fouls and play some D in the paint.

You are right. Damn they are kidding, we don't need Woods. I have to say this - he sucks.

With Yao in the lineup again next year we should use Deke as a backup, not Woods.

If it's non-guaranteed, how are we risking or losing anything?

... and it's insurance, in case Deke leaves.

... and I'm sure its very cheap, not putting us over the cap.

    ... and another trading chit.

    Good move.

I'm sure they wouldn't have signed him, if he didn't practice well. They probably figure that late in the draft, or in FA, we couldn't do any better, and allows us to focus on upgrading a different position. And if something better DOES come up, his contract is non-guaranteed, so he's easily cut.

    Well done, Morey.

And by doing it now, he keeps his fule MLE and LLE available in the off season.

I Love what Morey is doing.

He seems like a pretty strong rebounding player. We may need him against Phoenix. And he is also pretty cocky, so I guess he plays well with alston.

Is that a highlight or just a collection of every minute he's played in the NBA?

That's sad that checking into a game is one of his main highlights...in all honesty the dude seems worthless, he looks lethargic, has no power, and is just there to probably give up fouls to Shaq/Amare and/or Boozer, Duncan.

He will be removed for a roster place when the season is over. I bet.
