Which is funny since he came in talking about how he wants a fast team.

Even funnier is that he wants fast...lets Charles James go because they decided on length...then he brings James back because the speed would help on special teams.

    OB is clueless.

Only a fool & hack like Jason Hack Canfora could believe O'Brien is on the hot seat.

La Canfora has some interesting history with the Texans. In December 2014, he reported that Rick Smith would be moved out of his general manager's role following the season. Of course, Smith very much remains entrenched as Texans GM. La Canfora also reported last November that Texans coach Bill O'Brien was "very intrigued" in Maryland's head-coaching vacancy. That report was promptly shot down.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, continues to be wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong again, wrong, wrong, wrong yet again — Jason Hack Canfora for you.

If it's a bad year, Rick Smith will probably be "re-assigned."

Don't disagree. If Brock fails BoB is going to he held accountable.

But not this year. Brock has a bit of a leash. He'll get at least a couple of years before being deemed a failure. And thus so will O'Brien. Saying OB is on the hottest of hot seats this year is stupid.

La Canfora has a weird obsession with the Texans. He must have a bad source in the organization.

I'm not saying it's impossible that OBrien would get fired after this year because it could happen under certain circumstances obviously that push Bob McNair's buttons in just the wrong way, but he goes into this season with a pretty safe job. McNair is very happy with him and considers him a star coach, especially after hearing that from other owners (which McNair loves!) and he is coming off two solid seasons. It took a lot for McNair to fire Kubiak, he isn't going to dump OBrien after two 9-7 seasons and something mediocre in year 3.

Texans HC Position and Hot Seat should never be used in the same sentence.

I don't even understand how the most casual of NFL fans can think that BOB would be on the hot seat THIS year, let alone somebody who is supposedly plugged into inside information. There are too many hack writers that continue to have jobs without any kind of accountability.

Someone is clearly feeding La Canfora bad info...and he keeps biting on it. It's like they're messing with him but he just doesn't realize it.

he's in charge of the offense and it hasn't looked great if we're honest. that said, our zbs run game has looked pretty good but the passing game is still awful.

This guy has no fckin clue. Our defense is the only thing keeping him afloat. We need a real NFL offensive mind. Not this bullshit. We fckd up letting K.Shanahan get away this offseason. One more season BOB, better change something real quick.

Clock is ticking for him ...

Another underwhelming year of offense and we will send him packing ...

4 years and he still doesn't know how to adjust his offense for his players. No one knows how to get open. Penalties galore from lack of discipline.

The seat should be on fire. I don't care what season it is, shutouts are unacceptable in domes.

The offensive minded coach started with an offense that at one point was a well oiled machine. He took that offense and made it average, and every year since has declined in effectiveness. They have struggled to reach average levels on anything offensively, points, 1st downs, yards per play, turnovers, 3rd down percentage...anything.

What have they done to change anything, besides scapegoating godsey who got fired a year after he deserved it? They have struggled to evaluate or develop talent. Brown and Hopkins, Kubiak picks are still their best players. The OL struggles to block anything. TE/slot receivers are underwhelming whereas the New England model uses those players to destroy teams. They've rifled through QBs at astonishing rates and look to continue doing so.

You know what? I made this exact post last year too. For what reason OB isn't making desperate, borderline irrational changes....beats me. Things aren't working, haven't worked and have zero reason to predict change by doing the same things.

When you work for Bob McNair, its more like a lukewarm seat.
