I've been reading a few on the internet and I wondered why people here on Clutchfans aren't reading up on this (there have been a few). These are basically genius basketball minds coming together to talk about how a team should be built. Is there anywhere I can read up on EVERYTHING that's being talked about in the Conference?

anyone been to this? and what's it like getting tickets, planning a us trip for early in 2012 and thinking about making this fit?
I don't know where to post this, but I figured this is the most fitting thread. Maybe a mod can change the topic to "Sloan Sports Conference Articles & Videos" or something. Anyway, two new videos uploaded: “The Importance of Being Open: What Optical Tracking Data Can Say About NBA Field Goal Shooting” – Sandy Weil: <object name="ttvplayer" id="ttvplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all" allowFullScreen="true" height="336" width="544" data="http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/wid/_203822/uiconf_id/1898102/entry_id/1_au7wsm3o/"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/wid/_203822/uiconf_id/1898102/entry_id/1_au7wsm3o/"/><param name="flashVars" value="autoPlay=false"/><a href="http://ttv.mit.edu">MIT Tech TV</a></object> “The Real Reasons Behind the Home Field Advantage” – Tobias J. You can find the videos of pretty much all (a few are missing) 2011 panels right here. I'd recommend you watching most of them, if you have the time to do so, but the two most interesting I've watched were probably "Birth to Stardome: Developing the Modern Athete in 10,000 Hours?", which hasn't been uploaded yet and "Basketball Analytics": <object name="ttvplayer" id="ttvplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all" allowFullScreen="true" height="336" width="544" data="http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/wid/_203822/uiconf_id/1898102/entry_id/1_935j3tl1/"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="all" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/kwidget/wid/_203822/uiconf_id/1898102/entry_id/1_935j3tl1/"/><param name="flashVars" value="autoPlay=false"/><a href="http://ttv.mit.edu">MIT Tech TV</a></object>
The "Birth to Stardome: Developing the Modern Athete in 10,000 Hours?" panel featuring Daryl Morey and JVG has been uploaded. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=6260592 This is the last time I bumped this thread. I promise
You can keep bumping this thread for as much as you like, I appreciate the awesome effort... thank you!
Clutch, DrewP, and I all attended this year. It was awesome. I enjoyed it immensely.. Smeggy, tickets go on sale in November or so. They sell out by early February I think. Not too tough to get the tickets (at least this year)
This podcast link was posted on another thread and it needs to go here too. Jonah Keri interviews Morey after the conference. It's one of the better interviews I have heard Morey give. Jonah Keri does a good job. You can download the MP3 and save it for later if you like. Enjoy: http://jonahkeri.com/2011/03/10/podcast-30/ zzpot puff puff
you think there is any doubt to it with the pending lock-out? at this stage the trip is planned for a little earlier then the conference but if there is no nba think about pushing it out later to take in the sloan conference plus catch some march madness live
Did morey tell you a date? Am keen and happy to roll the dice on tickets but at some stage will have to book my flights from aus to LA
You can go to the SSC website and they're slowly loading some videos. The basketball and baseball analytics vids are about an hour long each. Here's the basketball one : http://www.sloansportsconference.com/panels-2/2011-2/nba-analytics/
