In my eyes, Yi is an NBA level player. Mediocre. But still NBA level.

This sina article said it's a done deal for vet minimum of $1.14mil/year.

    In Chinese

Yi is taking a huge paycut to play in the NBA. His current contract is over $3mil USD per year. He must think he could command more money in the future.

I think he's good enough to be a solid role player and I think LA will suit him better than Milwaukee.

The Lakers are playing for absolutely nothing, so getting minutes shouldn't be a problem.

Morey and Les are spreading the wealth. Lakers will be sponsored soon by Peak and ZTE if they sign Yi.

In 2007 he was 4 years away from being 4 years away. So I guess it's really time now.

    Come on, guys.

Let's wish him the best, he is known to be a hard worker.

He always delivered for the National team and Guangdong Tigers!

Pretty sure during the game against China the broadcaster (Doug Collins I think) noted that he was not at all a hard worker and that was a big reason for his lack of success in the NBA.

I watched him in a few games this Olympics and he can be a solid reserve in the NBA.

I am not sure but the times I watched Guangdong and he was always in good shape.

Hardly caught him out of shape like Harden or Tmac.

Maybe he could add more to his arsenal of weapons but I thought injuries was the major reason it did not work out and of course his soft play down low.

If he's going to take a pay cut and play for the min. I would call the Warriors and see if they were interested.

Yeah, to be fair Collins' comment on his work ethic was specifically about his NBA days, and not about how he is now in China.
