One of the crowd's biggest cheers came with 1:25 left, when Mobley made the second of two free throws, giving the Rockets 100 points. A hamburger chain offered free hamburgers to each fan if the Rockets hit the 100-point mark. "The only thing I'd like to change is give them a hamburger if we hold them under 80," Van Gundy said.
I think you misunderstood that... he means he likes holding the opponent under 80... not the Rockets scoring less...
i think it is obvious what he means.... he wants the crowd to be impressed and cheer for good defense. duh... some people will find anything to b**** about. btw...Wrong Forum
WHAT HE MEANS IS INSTEAD OF GIVING BURGERS FOR SCORING 100, HE WANTED THEM TO GIVE BURGERS IF WE HOLD TEAMS UNDER 80 POINTS. that was easy i cant belive u didnt pick it up
HE NEVER SAID HE DOSNT LIKE IT WHEN ROX SCORE 100 POINTS HE JUST LIKES IT MORE WHEN WE HOLD TEAMS UNDER 80, BECUASE HE IS A ALL DEFENSIVE GUY, THATS JUST THE WAY HE IS. CLOSE THIS THREAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ummm...I don't know anything about dnjndmrc5, but don't you guys think there's a good chance he was being facetious??? He was probably joking in reference to JVG's obsession over defense, and the joke is that he is so obsessed, he would give up offense for more defense. Not a funny joke I might add, but a joke nonetheless. IMHO, y'all are being a l'il harsh... ...but in the spirit of the bbs, let the bashing continue.
On the other hand, In a post gaame interview, when the free burger was mentioned to Cato he said he couldn't have one because Van Gundy would put him back on the bike. Maybe JVG just dosen't like fast food. Gee I like him more everyday.
