    At least.

I know he's known for making them during practice, so the accuracy shown here may not be surprising, but I think he finally worked the kinks out.

So did the Hick from French Lick's shooting form. As long as the ball goes in the hoop, that is all that matters.

I didn't predict he'd have textbook form. His issue was that he would flick the ball. He couldn't roll it off his finger tips. He's doing it now.

    68%, 50% - I don't care as long as he's getting to the line 8+ times a game.

If he's shooting 80+ in practice the form is not the problem. It's about the in-game mental aspect.

If D12 makes 68% of his free throws he can easily average 23 and 13

His real issue is that he doesn't hold his release after shooting....why isn't that coach showing him?,..he's essentially aiming and throwing.

Dwight shot 82% on this practice free throws as a Laker (sample size of 1,532)and ended up shooting under 50% on the season when the games counted. It doesn't matter as he's a beast regardless, but a short video means nothing. The Lakers could have taken a video of all 1,532 of those shots and he would have looked as accurate as Yao.

Not true. During a game, you are running around and are pretty tired and breathing hard. Then you shoot 2. Then you run around a bunch more and then shoot 2. Etc.

In practice, you are sitting at the line pretty relaxed and not too tired, and shoot a bunch in a row. This allows you to make little adjustments and get in a rhythm.

Sometimes when I'd get into an amazing rhythm, I would only miss a few out of 100. I could hit like 30 in a row before barely missing, and then hit 30 more in a row.

It's much different in a game and not because of anything mental.

If being in the right state of mind affects your shot that much, then you're not working with accurate form to begin with. A shot is muscle memory based. Get the kinks out of it, so that it's an accurate shot above all, let the muscle memory do it's job and then mentality can kiss its ass.

He is holding it. Look at the first shot. The rest of the clip is sped up, so you can't see it.

Which is why I stated it's not surprising to see him do it in practice. My prediction is based on the tweak on his release.

He improved last season. If he can improve just a little more this upcoming season I would be glad.

I don't think Dwight will improve on FT shooting. Real-time game is a different beast than an empty gym (I think it's mental.)

But to your point, an improvement from 50% to 68% shooting is about 2 points on average for each game.

50% to 68% is a huge difference especially when you average a lot of ft's

Where's the prediction thread of last year, there were probably a lot of these and while I had hoped the pressure of LA or Kobe had something to do with Howard's FT shooting, he was still awful so that boat has sailed..
