    We could've signed him in free agency but instead tried to go all out for Melo.

    It’s funny to look back at that season with Kevin McHale in Houston. Who I was then is so different than who I am now. I think, Man you were really immature. But I’ve gotten older, and I’ve learned. I’m in a great position. I have a wonderful wife and two kids. I’m an All-Star, and my team is making a strong playoff run. We may not win every game, but we trust in each other and believe if we go about our jobs the right way, great things will happen.

    Somebody asked me recently if I’m more at peace now. I wouldn’t say that.

    I’d say I’m me.

    We hadn't made him an offer when he chose Toronto. We were waiting on Bosh first.

    He may have chosen toronto anyway. But we'll never know

    I think about this all the time. This in my opinion, was Morey's biggest mistake as a GM. Lowry on last year's team would have been huge, but he wanted him to wait on Melo's decision.

    He said he was waiting on the call from Rockets but it took too long (cause of Morey aiming for Melo), so he opted for Toronto.

    Should've just went to sign Lowry instead of waiting for Melo. There was no way his wife was going to come to Houston anyways, she only wanted LA or NYC. Lowry came back out of respect for McHale to hear Houston's pitch but Morey probably told him we're waiting on Melo first. smh

    lol yep, now we know McHale holds ppl accountable during film sessions and in game. Harden probably didn't say anything to management when Les canned McHale because he was tired of getting called out in the locker room. Adelman was the real player's coach. ;)

    Having to wait for Bosh &/or Melo to make their decisions didn't help matters though. Having 2 shooters who can also run the game would have carried us past GS & maybe to the championship.

    Mchale was always a bad choice for coach. You can tell Lowry was trying to be nice. He couldn't figure out his style because Mchale didn't have a style. That's why you don't go from a great coach to Mchale.
