It's true. Prior to the season, nobody picked this team to make the playoffs. I can remember thread upon thread about how "another publication just dissed the Rockets" by not projecting them as a playoff team. Now, keep in mind that this was all before the injury to Maurice Taylor.

    Fast forward to now:

Rockets' winning percentage with Francis: .515
Winning percentage of the current #8 team in the West: .519

The Rockets have played most of the season without their two starting forwards, and the only thing that has them out of the playoff hunt (which they weren't projected to be in anyway), is their star player getting headaches. This is all happening while a 19 year-old is getting major minutes and developing on the fly.

The coaches and players need to be commended for exceeding expectations this year. The future looks bright for this team.

I don't know about the future. Our offense is still stagnant the majority of the time. We still have poor ball movement, run the ISO too much, and if our outside shots aren't falling, forget about it. Steve is STILL making the same mistakes he did during his rookie season, if not with greater frequency. The point guard should NEVER lead the team in turnovers.

Name an offensive category, and the Rockets are either at or near the bottom of the league. Plus, our record without Steve is proof of this team's lack of depth. Hopefully, we can finish strong and give the fans something to hope for next season.
