This weekend, out of the blue, my wife's charger stops charging her iPhone 5 and shows the following message: Keep in mind, this is the same cord that came with the phone, so it's not some 3rd party cord like Apple seems to hate so much. I've tried several 'fixes' I googled and none have worked so far. Any suggestions?
My 5 is kind of flaky with chargers too -- the coupling doesn't seem to be robust and keeps slipping slightly. (I know, that's what she said.) No advice for you, sorry. Just sympathy.
Same. I've had the exact same problem. Sometimes you have to just prop the phone at an angle against the charger. I had that issue for a month or so... until I think I dropped the phone and it fixed it back... haha. It's just too painful at times to go to the Apple store.
OT: The home button on my iphone has failed on me. I now have to use that assistive home button which appears on the screen. Anyone know where I can get this fixed? Preferrably close to the midtown/montrose area.
If you haven't tried it yet, see if there is some lint or dust in the port and clean that sucker out. Sometimes it makes a bad connection and causes those errors to pop up.
The chip in the wire or charger probably went bad. Does it do it on all lightning cables or just the one?
There's something wrong with the charger. I have the same issue right now. At first I didn't know what's wrong with the charger so I just unplugged and plugged it back in. A few days later I saw that my charger was cut due from the twist and turns.
My iPhone charger has been near destroyed for the past 8 months. I've electrical taped that thing so much that there's no more room left to electrical tape it anywhere.
Be careful with damaged chargers. I was driving in my car with mine, a few of the inner wires were exposed, and the thing caught on fire. Scared the heck out of me.
